Chapter 1

January 2019

“Mother fucker.”

Victor Garcia turned his head toward the voice in the bathroom.

“Everything okay, baby?” His husband didn’t answer, only stepped into the doorway and pointed at his crotch. He was naked. Victor gave the whole assembly a good long look. “Been there, done that.”

Andy Martin turned his pointing hand up, changing fingers. Victor laughed. Andy tried not to. “Another gray hair. Shouldn’t you have noticed that?”

“I had other things to think about.” Victor propped himself up on an elbow and took another look. It was always a rewarding activity. “You know every hair on your body could be gray and I’d still think you’re the hottest.

The sexiest. Jesus, look at you. Every fifty-one-year-old in the land should look like you.”

“Almost fifty-two.”

“Like I care.” Looking at Andy, and thinking about Andy, were having the usual effect. Victor used his free hand to throw the sheet off so his husband could see. He still loved thinking that, ‘husband.’ It was a year old now but he wasn’t anywhere near over it. “Does this look like I care?”

Andy shifted his pose a little. You gorgeous thing. He knew he looked good. The way he worked out, he ought to. Keeping up with Victor was half of it, but the best half. He watched Victor put a hand on himself. “For someone who’s been there and done that, you’re looking kind of eager.”

Victor didn’t say anything. He was giving Andy the hot-eyed stare that had sent them straight to bed before they even really knew each other, a little over six years ago now. Six years since Andy had stopped looking at anyone else.

“Is this what you want? Let me give you a better look.” Now he turned his back to the door frame so Victor could see his body in profile. He didn’t really even need to touch himself, only needed to watch his husband. God I love that word. “Quieres esto, mí esposo?” He enjoyed the way his wedding ring flashed when it caught the light coming in the sunroom windows behind him. His head was still turned toward Victor so he could see what was going

on there. He liked what he was seeing.

Victor did too. “Quiero todo. Jesus, Andy. Get over here.” That profile, almost a silhouette, was killing him. He wanted all of that, always.

“Oh, I don’t know. I like watching you.” He knew they could both get off like this. Would, most likely. It wouldn’t take long at all. He let his gaze travel down Victor’s body, those tawny legs, those wicked tattoos, hips starting to move a little. It was almost as if Victor could feel his gaze. When Andy’s attention lingered on that hand and what it was doing, Victor lost his rhythm for a second. Andy caught his breath. “Oh yeah, baby.” His voice went into the low silky tone that never failed with Victor. “Let me see it. I could watch that all day. Yeah, like that, I can feel it from here.” That hand was back in business now. So was Andy’s. His gaze traveled up, over the tense abs to the no-longer-raw scar of the bullet wound on the upper chest, to the perfect mouth.

Victor had his teeth in his lower lip. He really wanted Andy to touch him. He was going to make that guy pay for this later. But he was losing it.

His breath was fast and shallow, he kept going out of focus, even though Andy’s gaze was locked with his now. “Next time I get my hands on you,” he managed.

“Nothing stopping you.” Andy’s voice was breathless too. Victor sort of laughed. He couldn’t have moved off the bed right now for anything. “Come on, baby. Come for me. Fuck, you’re so fucking gorgeous, fuck that hand and yes.” Andy was breathing through his mouth, not really trying not to come himself. He needed a second to get over seeing that, though.

Victor’s head was back
