I sighed, not even turning. Drew really knew how to spoil the moment.
“Go on,” Anthony laughed softly, nudging me toward my uncle. Once I faced him, I punched his
arm hard.
Ignoring his protests, I smiled at Anthony before disappearing behind the door leading inside.
“See you after the game!” he winked as he called out to me.
I smiled, knowing that this was just the start.
Acknowledgements
This story first started out in Wattpad, a crazy idea of a college girl, roughly ten years ago. At first, it was supposed to be just a few chapters, then I got too immersed with the characters that I just
had to give them justice.
Rewriting some parts after a decade has been difficult, since I didn’t want to spoil the writing too much. It wasn’t perfect, but this was my first attempt at a novel, and the imperfections make it all the more charming and memorable.
To our Almighty Father, You are always the best. All glory to You.
To my mom and brother, who has always been patient with me when I zone out to my own little
writing nook (our family dining table) even during meal times, thank you for all the support. To my Mom who has been there since Day 1, before I even knew I wanted to write, thank you for nudging
me to pursue this even when I gave up on it when life got in the way.
To my friends who have read rough drafts of this story way back during our college days, thank
you for sparing the time. Your kind words have encouraged me in ways you can’t even imagine.
