I really loved writing this book for several reasons other than getting to focus on Ruby Mae and Luke’s relationship. One of my favorite places the Navy ever sent my husband and I was Italy. I fell in love with the country and the friends that would become like family to me. It’s a privilege to put a little of what I enjoyed into this book. While the town of Perdaggia isn’t real, the area it’s based on is. It was a blast getting to “live” in Italy again while writing Vintage Vampire. So, a hearty Thanks goes to the Navy for sending us there for almost four years!
I also need to thank my sprint groups who’ve helped push my writing to another level. Thanks to my Chatzy group and to Malorie Cooper’s live sprint crew.
As always, I thank my family for their unending support. Can’t believe y’all still read my books!
And to my husband—thank you for giving me the space to do what I love, for feeding me and the cats when I forget to, and for being my constant support and person who has to hear my crazy plots and help me out of the corners. Who else would force me to take breaks and go for walks to make sure I don’t get “too weird?” Love that I got to put a little of our Umbria into a book!
About the Author
Bella Falls grew up on the magic of sweet tea, barbecue, and hot and humid Southern days. She met her husband at college over an argument of how to properly pronounce the word pecan (for the record, it should be pea-cawn, and they taste amazing in a pie). Although she’s had the privilege of living all over the States and the world, her heart still beats to the rhythm of the cicadas on a hot summer’s evening.
Now, she’s taken her love of the South and woven it into a world where magic and mystery aren’t the only Charms.
