“Eve...”
I laugh. “Well, I couldn’t help it. I was excited.”
“They’re goin’ to fuckin’ destroy me, aren’t they?”
“Only in the best way.”
He chuckles and swings me towards him, pulling me in for a deep kiss. We stand in the parking lot kissing, and it feels exactly right.
“How is Adan doing?” I ask him, wrapping my arms around his waist.
“Oh, he’s fuckin’ hatin’ every second of it. Mostly that he can’t be at the club all the time and that he has a woman doin’ the things that make him feel most like a man.”
I bite my lip. “He and Ramona sure do butt heads.”
“Oh, it’s fuckin’ great. I can’t wait to see how that one ends.”
I laugh. “You know...we are standing here in the parking lot...a few months ago this was a warzone.”
He nods. “Yeah, well, we all knew you’d back down eventually.”
I raise my brows and jerk my head back. “I’d back down? I think it was you that backed down.”
“We both fuckin’ know it was you.”
I grunt, stepping back. “It was not me. You couldn’t get enough of all this...”
I indicate to my body.
“Woman, you wanted my cock more than anything.”
“I did not.”
“You did.”
“I won! Fair and square.”
“I won fair and fuckin’ square.”
I grin at him. “Let’s call it a truce, then?”
“Fine, a fuckin’ truce. Now get over here.”
He takes my hand and we walk back towards the café, a smile on my face bigger than sunshine itself.
“Technically though, it was me,” I say softly.
He laughs.
“Fine, have it your way. You fuckin’ won.”
Yes.
Indeed I did.
I won.
