Nikki and Luke walked towards us not holding hands but with smiles on their faces. Maybe Luke wasn’t dating Nikki to make me jealous after all.
My heart raced, but I didn’t know whether it was seeing them together or the news that Greg was about to spill.
“We’d like to introduce our newest full-time ranger,” Greg said tapping his beer glass with a fork. “Rylie Cooper.”
Shayla and I both let out squeals. Garrett wrapped me up in his arms and planted a huge kiss on me before Shayla pulled me away and into an embrace of her own.
“Thank you so much,” I finally said to the rangers. “I won’t let you down.”
“I just can’t believe we hired the shit-magnet, snake wrangler.” Seamus’s joke was met by laughter. Even Nikki smiled.
Now all I had to do was find a place to live that wasn’t my parents’ basement.
