I made a noise of warning in the back of my throat, but it came out a noisy sigh.
“Somebody stop that vampire!” Irdu yelled.
Adrenaline flooded my system with a surge of panic that heightened my senses and made everything happen in slow motion.
Out of the far edge of my vision, someone threw a fireball at the vampire, but it missed.
A pair of burly demons in tuxedos rushed toward the speeding vampire, who dodged left, right, and slipped their defenses. The demon floating Valentine raised his hands, trying to pull Valentine away from the vampire.
It was too late. Prince Draconius’s vampire warrior swung his sword and sliced his blade through Valentine’s neck, severing his head from his body.
