Description
Gabrield de Araceli is a young orphan living in Cádiz, Spain. His caretakers, a retired naval officer and his wife, keep a close eye on him until one of their old navy friends comes to visit to tell of a grand upcoming battle between England on one side, and France and Spain allied on the other.
Gabriel’s master is stirred by memories of daring and adventure, and, when his disapproving wife is otherwise occupied, steals away with Gabriel to board the Santísima Trinidad—then the largest battleship in the world—and sail off to cover themselves in glory.
