1 teaspoon baking soda

1 cup chopped nuts

1 cup moose mincemeat, drained

In a large bowl, cream the shortening.

Beat in the vanilla, honey, and eggs.

In a separate bowl, sift together flour, salt, and baking soda.

Add dry ingredients to the egg mixture.

Fold in nuts and mincemeat.

Drop by teaspoonfuls on a buttered cookie sheet.

Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes or until delicately browned.

Makes 6 dozen cookies; halve amounts for a smaller batch.
