a proud history of breedingtrue. Half breeds are not allowed and I assumed it impossible untilyou happened.

‘Is it something to do with the Divinity seeds?’ askedAquitain.

‘You may or may not know that the elemental dragons claim tobe first life forms in the Universe. They helped the creatorpopulate the worlds with other life forms. Being the first childrenof the creator they were given a special reward. Each was given adivinity seed. The reward was that after all their hard work theywould be able to have a child and pass on a divinity seed to theirchild. The divinity seed would entitle their child to become animmortal.’

‘However just having a seed does not make you immortal. Theseed gives you the chance to become immortal. At a certain level ofachievement and understanding you know how to become immortal. Manyhave never known that they had a divinity seed and the possibilityof immortality. They have been raped and pillaged by the gods fortheir gift.’

They containall of the knowledge in the Universe. Gods crave them like anaddictive drug. The more they have the greater their power.’

‘There are at least eight different divinity seeds that I knowof, perhaps many more. I was endowed with the Seed of Knowledge. Ithas revealed many interesting things but it is not an easy seed tounderstand as it mainly contains questions rather than answers. Itrequires you to work. I guess that way you learn better and gainexperience while you gain knowledge.’

‘My kin, the elemental dragons, discovered that they weretargets of the gods who wished to steal their divinity seeds sothey got cunning. They all decided that they would only endow theiroffspring with the same book, the Seed of Knowledge. That’s what Iwas advised to do when I was a child and I intend to doit.’

‘What do you know about my Divinity Seed? asked Aquitaincareful not to reveal he had two.

‘When you were created you ended up with a copy of the Seed ofElements, not a rare book but certainly one to be coveted by lesserpowers. That in itself puts you in grave danger if the wrong peoplewere to find out.’

‘What if I have children, will they inherit a Divinity Seed?asked Aquitain.

‘Since you are half dragon it’s possible I suppose, if youwere to find another half dragon like yourself. But since you arequite unique that is unlikely. If you did somehow have childrenthen you could well have gods and powers chasing you and yourchildren for their seeds or using you as a breeding stud for moreseeds. Not a pleasant thought.’

Aquitain saidnothing but he had a horrible feeling. He had been seduced by thelittle witch Shastritara. Could she have known about his DivinitySeed?’ He didn’t want to think about the consequences of that.

‘How did you get caught inside Alpha?’ asked Aquitain changingthe topic.

‘It was my mother. I was a bit radical and I annoyed a lot ofpeople. She thought I needed some time to consider the errors of myways.’

‘Who is your mother?’ asked Aquitain quite surprised at howopen and freely Aquiveritas was answering him.

‘My mother is Lithgala. She is a servant of the lady likeMiranlla is! She aspires to be the Goddess of the Yith but is notpowerful enough yet by far. Controlling Mudrun would probably helpher a lot and Moonmist would be a real prize as she believes thereis something special about it. I don’t know what it is and don’tcare as I don’t like the place. ’

‘What can you tell me about Borse and K’wala’ asked Aquitainand Aquiveritas revealed that Borse was a technical genius. He hadbuilt Argenta first to gain experience in building gate worlds andthen built Astaria skiting that it was an achievement that wouldmake the gods jealous. Perhaps that’s why my mother didn’t likehim. Perhaps she was jealous of him. She certainly coveted hiscreation.

Aquitain couldguess why she might covet Astaria. She knew what he knew about thedragons incarcerated there. Perhaps she was behind the plan to setK’wala and Borse free.

He listenedraptly to Aquiveritas’ stories about K’wala, Barra, Tuatara, Raptorand various gods for ages realizing that they were now all a partof his world. He was not a god or a power or really anything veryimportant yet but he could be. He had two divinity seeds full ofknowledge and that was power. He knew so little and there was somuch he could learn but that would take time. That was his key tothe future he needed to buy time.

He lost trackof time dreaming of all the possibilities until he got an urgentmessage from Miranlla via the little Green bear Binki. He wasneeded. There was trouble at the Little People’s conference.

Chapter 43 HiddenAgendas

Shastritara wearingthe robes of a Lithgala priestess stood on the highest of the fivepeaks overlooking the Crown of Elements. She was heavily pregnant. She watched as the elders of all the tribes of the little peoplearrived by air elemental transport.

She saw themerect tents and mingle. She imagined how excited they were. Shewatched as a circle was drawn on the ground. This would be whereall the elders would sit tomorrow. They would debate thepossibility of changing the Pact of Renewal but that would not bewhat was on their minds. Shastritara would be on their minds. Theywould want to know about the birth of her eggs.

Three littleeggs all with the chance of divinity. Eggs that would take theLittle People from servants to gods. This moment was profound. Forover a thousands of years they had been slaves to the gods. Now oneor more of them had the chance to become a god. They would nolonger be slaves but be given freedom by their own god. Shastritarawould be mother of a god but first she had to please Lithgala.

Ishteth arrivedprecisely on time and looked down at the mass of Little People.

‘The plan seems to be working well.’ He said.

‘Yes your Holiness. I have three eggs and they all seemhealthy. They will be born soon.’

‘Good then I will choose the two that I want and you may havethe other.’

‘What of their father your Holiness.’

‘He is still free. If this project is successful I will letyou
