this woman calls to me.  The way she walks, the way her hips sway, and the way she shyly looks down when she catches someone staring at her.  It seems as though every male eye on the beach has looked her way but then decided she was out of their league and moved on.  Maybe she is out of my league too, but I can’t seem to walk away.

To my disappointment, she found a sundress to cover up that perfect body.  It’s a perfect match to her bikini, so it almost looks like the strings on the top of her suit belong to the dress giving the appearance that she is bare under there.  My body stiffens at the thought of what is under that little scrap of material.  Shit!  I have it bad.

“Dude, are we seriously going to follow her around all day?  Why don’t you just go introduce yourself and see where it leads?”

She has been lounging under a cabana for an hour, and I was just getting up the nerve to introduce myself, but Tag had to go and jinx me by opening his big mouth.  She stands up and heads for the water, stripping of the little dress as she goes.  Okay, maybe he didn’t jinx me.  She splashes in the water and I envy every little drop that rolls down her body.  Holy shit!  What is wrong with me?  I have never noticed such things before about any woman.  Sure, I’ve seen beautiful women but not the perfect woman for me, until now.

“Tag, the timing has to be perfect.  I have to give her enough time to get over the douche man who left her.  Then I can swoop in and save the day.”

“You are delusional.  That usually takes weeks for most women, unless she is looking for a rebound.  I’m sorry to tell ya, Buddy, but that woman doesn’t look like she does the rebound thing.  With a body like that, she probably has men falling all over her.  Although I don’t know what’s wrong with the men on this beach, including you.  Would you like me to go introduce myself?”

“Don’t you dare, Tag, and quit looking at her body.”  I know I’m being ridiculous because everyone is looking at her body, including the women who wish they looked like her.  Thank God the sun is starting to set and maybe people won’t be able to see her that well.

Flyers are blowing down the beach, and one sticks to her leg.  God, I envy that little piece of paper.  I snatch one up as it blows by and notice that she is reading hers too.  A swanky new hot spot is opening tonight and the smile on her lips tells me that this club will be my perfect opportunity.  Maybe she is just looking to kill some time.  Maybe she needs some company to get over the steroid freak on the beach.  I plan to be that company.

Chapter Three

Meet:

*arrange or happen to come into the presence or company of someone.  *make the acquaintance of someone for the first time.  *assemble for a purpose.

After much deliberation, I finally make it to the club.  I am underdressed compared to the other women standing in the line, and I have watched the bouncer turn away several people that didn’t fit the bill; maybe that will be me.  As I get closer, the bouncer looks my way, winks, and ushers me past the ten people in line before me.  Well, that was unexpected; so was the pat on the ass as I walked by.  If I wouldn’t have been so desperate, I would have turned around and given him a piece of my mind; but I am, so I didn’t.

I find one empty seat at the bar and move quickly through a crowd of men that don’t have any manners and practically fall into my seat.  Drinking is not an option while I’m alone, so I order a bottled water and survey the packed bodies through the mirror behind the bar.

The line at the nightclub stretches down the entire block, but she is already halfway to the entrance when we arrive.  Lucky for me, the club is just down the street from Tags place, and once I knew that this was where she was headed, I ran to Tag’s condo to shower and shave.  It shouldn’t take us long to get in the door after her, but I still worry about who will have the guts to approach her before me.

“Dude, I have never seen you so worked up over a woman before.  I’m kinda worried about what it’s going to be like when I finally fall.  Who the hell am I kidding? I’m never gonna fall; I like variety.”

“I can’t explain it, Tag.  I just feel the need to be near her, to get to know her.  Can this line be any longer?  Damn!”  Tag just laughs and shakes his head.  I know I look crazy, but I feel as though an invisible string has tethered us together and once I meet her my entire life will change.

She just entered the club and we probably have another fifteen minutes of waiting in this ridiculous line.  Will I even be able to find her once inside?  Will someone else have already snagged her attention before I can meet her?  Damn!  I am going crazy.  Once we are close enough, Tag recognizes the bouncer and moves to the front of the line to greet his friend.  After a palm grip and shoulder bump we are finally moving inside.

This club is too loud, the people too rude, and I am underdressed for the grand opening of a swanky new hot spot.  I don’t know what was going on in my head when I decided to come here.  My fake I.D. is from Georgia and foolproof, but I don’t dare drink without someone to watch over me, another issue my mom drilled into my head.  “All men will
