“You want to know a secret?” he asks. Heleans across the table and whispers. “I’m not a fan of coffeemyself, but it’d break your Nanna’s heart if I ever told her. Youknow, it’s just… this is the right thing to do.”
With that, he picks up his coffee cup andsips, and for the first time in years, I feel like I’m finallyhome.
