of my neck as it sent more rose petals scattering across the dance floor. For a moment, I could hear Luke humming along to the song. With my face so near his chest, I wondered if wounded hearts could ever really heal. But then I remembered something Briette had always said: “Love makes everything new.”

I believed her. There would be time to figure out the destination of my heart. For now, I was content to dance with “the hottie” and envision wedding vows in Hawaii.
