if that was because her mother found it easier to think of two women together rather than two men or if she had softened her opinion. Her invite for Tristan’s partner to be welcome at the next Christmas seemed to suggest the latter, which thrilled Carmen.

“Well.” Ash leaned across the small table to give her a kiss. “I think it’s great. Certainly, I’m happy—I never fancied heading into the lion’s den alone this Christmas.” Ash gave her a look of mock horror.

Carmen laughed. The next message was from Monica telling her everything was under control and not to worry, and she laughed some more.

“Sophie sends her love. She’s all excited because Courtney is taking her shopping tomorrow for new sneakers.” Ash grinned. “With rainbow laces. Apparently, Courtney’s saying she might get some too.”

“No! That’s amazing.”

Ash nodded, her smile wide. “It is.”

They looked at each other for a moment, and Carmen knew Ash was thinking exactly the same thing: We are so lucky .

“So, um, before we head out to pick up the rental car, I have a surprise for you.” Ash walked round to Carmen’s chair and held out her hand.

Carmen allowed herself to be tugged upright. “What’s going on?”

Ash blushed. “Well, I kind of wanted to treat you to something. Something special. Just because.” She pulled Carmen into her arms. “I love you, and I always want to make you happy.”

“Oh, you do, my love. Always.” Carmen kissed the tip of Ash’s nose.

“Good. But I figure it can’t hurt to add a little extra in now and then.” She waggled her eyebrows.

Carmen laughed.

“I upgraded our car. To a convertible. I know that was your dream, so…”

Carmen gazed at Ash, her love for this woman consuming her. How did I get so lucky? “You…you are incredible.” Tears pricked at her eyes.

Ash held her close. “I think maybe we’re just incredible together.”

“We are. And I don’t ever want that to stop.” Carmen’s heart thumped as Ash grabbed her and kissed her as if there was no tomorrow.

A slow-burning lesbian sports romance about taking a chance with your heart.

Television producer Adrienne Wyatt has thrown herself into her career after her lover left her a year ago. She has a brilliant new plan: a documentary featuring Morgan’s rise and rise, capitalizing on the young woman’s star appeal.

The main problem is that the reserved golfer treats Adrienne’s plan like an invasion of privacy. The other issue is her growing feelings for the irritatingly attractive woman—an unprofessional lapse that would get her ridiculed by her peers if anyone found out.

A funny, small-town lesbian romance about clashing cultures and daring to dream big.

LA-based English indie filmmaker Alex Levitin reluctantly takes a job in New Zealand to save the “worst movie ever”, Shezan: Mistress of the Forest. Things might go easier for her if she didn’t almost run over the standoffish, beautiful local cop on her first day in town. And it’d really help if her film set wasn’t being mysteriously sabotaged.

When Ika Whenu’s Senior Constable Sam Keegan isn’t trying to stamp out a motorcycle gang drug problem afflicting her town, she’s publicly slamming everything about the exploitative film, Shezan, and the Hollywood blow-ins making it. That includes its nerdy, cute director, Alex, who has woeful driving skills to go with her smart mouth.

Against the stunning scenery and chaotic film-set backdrop, attraction flares between the two warring women as they’re forced to work together to find the set saboteur.

This is a Breaking Character spin-off novel that can easily be read as a standalone story.

She teaches at the local university, has two well-behaved teenage daughters, and what she doesn’t know about human anatomy isn’t worth knowing. Unfortunately, that knowledge doesn’t stretch to plants, and she’s been asked to help out on a school garden project.

Being a paramedic doesn’t do Melissa Jackson’s back or knees any favours, so she’s looking into university courses to try a less strenuous line of her work.
