Jase frowned at his Trio and tilted his head toward me. “I have need of this meeting space at this time.”
Cassala shook her head. “I still don’t understand—oh…”
“Yes, Cassala. Now, please. Send out four scouts to make sure all of our tracks are covered, that we took care of all the nearby Bordash, and that we have a sentry on that butte. I will call him into the overhang when Vania and I have… concluded our meeting…”
I clapped my hand over my mouth to cover the giggle. I couldn’t help it. Jase’s hands were clenching and unclenching, as if he couldn’t hardly contain what he was feeling; was it emotions toward me? Was he so desirous of me that he was jumpy, edgy, unable to contain it?
“That will be all. Please inform the others that I want my privacy at this time.”
“We don’t have much time, Alpha. We need your direction and it will be best to attack Tarsine’s camp under cover of this storm.” Jase glared at her. She visibly flinched. “Yes, Alpha.”
Cassala shot a cool look my way but floated back down in the rain.
Jase grinned again as he turned to me. "Sorry about that."
“That’s okay. I appreciate you wanting to be under the overhang and dry during our meeting.”
“Well, yes, you see, I’m not the one that’s supposed to get wet…”
As he said that, he twisted his hand in the air and with a great magical nudge, I was pulled into him with his telekinetic powers, a force so uncanny and strong I didn’t know if I would ever get used to it. His hands were strong on my waist, his fingers kneading into my sides, his head leaning into mine, mouth close, as if it were greedy, wanting to share my breath…
“Is your leg better now?”
“Even if it’s not, I am sure they have brought more bandages…” I smiled.
“Good, then…”
With the most gentle movement, he brushed his lips over mine, as if he were painting a kiss on my lips with his, imprinting the definition of his lip lines on mine. He paused at the corners, and my insides melted. I trembled inside. I curled my fingers into his shirt underneath his cloak, feeling the depth of his back muscles flex as he picked me up and moved me deeper into the cave, away from the lashing rain.
He set me down and held me at arm’s length. He looked me up and down, appraising, hungry, demanding. “If I command you to take off your clothes, will you? I am your Alpha Warlord.”
"I'll obey your commands if you obey mine…" I said and slipped my fingers down from his back and around to the front of his pants. His eyes laughed into mine, and he dotted a kiss on my nose as I looked down to examine his belt buckle.
“What’s your first command?”
I pursed my lips and paused for a long moment before answering. My heart was thumping so loud, I knew he had to hear it. “Close your eyes…”
Jase looked stunned by my request, and he shifted from side to side.
“I don’t… I don’t know. Trust… is hard…”
“I know. That’s why I’m asking…”
I reached up and placed my hand with the ring on his cheek and the same electricity shot through us, but this time, the flashes arched out into the sky and seemed to meet with the lightning from the storm, ripping through the clouds and electrifying the raindrops so that they burst in tiny sizzles against the ground below. It wasn’t only his skin that glowed as the flashes from the ring radiated through us, I could see my skin flickering and rippling, and the tingles tore through my body like a full orgasm, such that I clung to his chest, breathless and gasping.
Finally, I looked back up at him.
“Just close your eyes… trust me, Jase… Trust me…”
He looked at me for a long, long time… What he was thinking? For a moment I thought I might have ruined everything… A spike of fear ran through me. Was that too much? Had I risked too much?
But, he took a deep breath, pushed my left hand with the ring on it to his chest, the tingles buzzing through us both. He bowed his head over my hand and closed his eyes.
I licked my lips and smiled.
My Alpha Warlord trusts me…
Twelve
Jase
I stared at her, stunned. Close my eyes? That wasn’t such a simple request… Since I could remember, I had been on guard, constantly aware, watching my back. Certain that I had to be cognizant of any potential threat. Though I had my soldiers down below, and the cover of a hearty storm, and I was surely in a safe place, and I knew, I knew, Vania wasn’t going to hurt me… That request still seemed like a stretch.
Just close my eyes… I can close my eyes. For her, I can close my eyes… I took her hand and rubbed it carefully and laid it on my chest, feeling that tingle, that buzz from the ring shiver through my body. Her green eyes were wide and adoring, so absolutely in awe that I was actually going to trust her. She knew how much it meant that I was giving her this.
Then I bowed my head over her hand and closed my eyes.
It was exhilarating and frightening at the same time. My heart rate was already high, being near her and the electricity that incited, but now, the element of fear that it brought was elevating the entire situation. What was she going to do?
I was giving her the command… Me. The Alpha Warlord. I was giving her the command.
For now, at least. We would see how long I could let that last…
"Keep your eyes closed," she whispered, and her lips were right next to mine. She must be standing on tiptoes to let her mouth be that close to mine. She
