sighed and nodded her head.

“Well, that’s fine then. I’ll take the bed. But for now, I’m going to take a shower. Or a bath. Or something to help me feel clean,” she said.

“That’s fine. I’m going to get started on working once I can figure out the internet password here. If they have it.”

Shit. I forgot to ask the front desk if they had internet.

“Remember our deal,” Abby said.

I picked up the hotel room phone as Abby backtracked into the bathroom. I called the front desk and was relieved when they said they had internet. I wrote down the password then pulled out the couch bed, making it up with the sheets before I changed clothes. I pulled out a pair of pajama pants and a t-shirt before I turned my laptop on, but something caught my attention.

Rather, it was something that should’ve caught my attention, but didn’t.

Even though Abby had been in the bathroom for a few minutes now, there was no water running.

“Abby?” I asked.

But she didn’t give me an answer.

I logged into my laptop and hooked it up to the internet before I walked over to the bathroom. The bathroom was separated from the room this time, so I knocked on the door to try and get her attention.

“Abby. You okay in there?”

But there was still no answer and I couldn’t even hear her walking around.

My hand descended onto the doorknob and I paused for just a moment. If she was hurt, she’d be crying out. If she was upset, she’d be talking to herself. If she was being quiet, maybe she just wanted some privacy. Some time to herself to adjust and digest the situation we had found ourselves in.

But I still felt a little flutter of panic in my stomach, and my curiosity got the best of me.

“I just want to make sure you’re all right,” I said.

Then, I opened the door just to glance in and make sure there was nothing she needed.

Chapter 6

Abby

I heard the door open just as I dropped the last of my clothes to the floor. The man really didn’t take a hint, which meant he was about to get an eyeful. If he couldn’t just leave me alone, then he was going to suffer the consequences. I was too wound up and too stressed out to leave this jet tub unused. The hot water was running and the jets were bubbling the lavender bubble bath soap I found on the counter, and I was ready to relax.

And when Colin opened the door, I turned my head towards him and grinned.

His eyes raked over my body as I stood there in front of him. His back quickly straightened as his eyes darted over to the running water, then they migrated over to the other little surprise that had been stocked in the bathroom. A bottle of champagne with small fluted glasses.

“I guess they tried their best to prepare for Valentine’s Day,” I said.

His eyes panned back to me and I gave him a playful wink. It wasn’t like this was the first time he had seen me naked. The moments we had shared over Christmas had been stuck in my mind over the past two months. They kept me company in my dreams, and at times they were so vivid I woke up and expected him to be next to me.

And now we were here. Together, in this moment while his eyes ran along the curves of my naked body.

I slipped into the tub and sighed as I sank down into it. Without another word spoken, he slipped into the room and began to undress. The familiarity between the two of us was coming back. The stress of the weather was fading into the background and in its place was the sizzling connection we felt two months ago.

Well, the sizzling connection I felt two months ago anyway.

His body came into view and it was just as I had remembered. Tall and strong, with lean muscles and veins that bulged in placed I wanted to lick. My eyes lingered on his chiseled abs before they made their way down to his thick dick, and I shivered as I thought about all the things his body had done to mine. About the electricity that had surged through my veins when he touched me, and the fire that sparked in my gut when he kissed me. I watched as his naked body walked over to the cheap bottle of champagne, and he poured us both a glass before he settled into the tub in front of me.

“Thirsty?” he asked.

“It’s a cute set up for such a dark motel,” I said.

“I guess it’s the staff’s way of wishing their guests a Happy Valentine’s Day,” he said.

Colin reached over and shut the water off as the jets continued to batter our bodies. We sipped silently from our champagne flutes, our eyes connected and unwavering. His bright blue eyes slowly turned from stern to lustful, and I could feel that same passionate want rising up my legs.

“You look as beautiful as I remembered,” he said.

“So you did think of me every now and again,” I said, grinning.

“More than you know,” he said.

His voice was low and husky, like dark chocolate being melted on top of a stove. The air crackled between us as Colin shifted towards me, plucking my glass from my hand and setting it on the floor. The water around us sloshed as he moved closer to me, his body floating in the soapy water as the scent of lavender soaked into our skin.

“I thought about us, too, you know,” I said breathlessly.

His lips were on mine in an instant, before he pulled me into his lap. I could hear the water sloshing over
