“You better not let me catch you on the back of another man’s bike,” Jaxon says as I climb off his Harley. “You ride with me only.”
My cheeks are blushing and I can’t stop smiling as I watch him get off. He looks so sexy in his jeans and leather cut. I made him keep it on this morning after my shower when he got me dirty again on the bed.
“I’ve been working here for over a year and I haven’t been on a bike yet,” I tell him as he steps up to me, towering over my tingling body. He gently takes my chin in his powerful hand and tilts my head up as he looks down at me with a possessive loving gaze.
“I don’t like you working around all these men,” he says as he stares at my lips. “I don’t like them looking at what’s for my eyes only.”
“You sound jealous, Jaxon Hader.”
“Not jealous. Obsessed.”
I get a warm shiver as he looks back into my eyes with a territorial look.
“I want you all to myself, princess. I’m not sharing you with anyone. Got that?”
I nod as he leans down and kisses me softly on the lips.
Like I would go anywhere with anyone else. This dominating man who’s commanding all of my attention is the only thing catching my eye around here.
Watch yourself, Stella.
He’s only here for a brief time and I don’t know how brief. He can bounce back onto that bike and leave just as fast as he came. Just as I’m starting to fall for him.
Ah, who am I kidding? I’m already there.
I have a big crush on Jaxon Hader. He’s not the only one obsessed around here.
“You don’t have to share me.” He pulls me closer and I feel his warm breath tickling my lips, making me step on my toes to reach his tempting mouth. “I’m all yours… until you leave.”
His hands tighten on my hips. “I’m not leaving without you, princess,” he growls.
“And what if I want to stay?”
He grins as he stares down at me like I’m the most precious thing in the world.
Just as he’s about to answer, Troy comes out of the bar and calls him over. “Jaxon! Just the man I wanted to see.”
Jaxon leans in and kisses my neck under my ear, giving me shivers. His lips hover over my ear and he whispers, “We’ll continue this later.”
“Continue what? The talking or the kissing?”
“Both.” He kisses me again. “Just know that I’m not giving up on this.”
“It’s only been one night,” I say as my cheeks start to blush. “Hardly worth moving across the country for.”
“It was the best night of my life. Worth moving across the world for.”
He kisses me once more on the lips—deeply, passionately, leaving me trembling as he heads inside. I need a few seconds to compose myself after that one.
I notice his brother Beckham’s bike parked amongst the others, already looking at home.
“Hey, Bulldog,” I say as I walk onto the porch.
He’s grinning knowingly. “Anything interesting happen since I last saw you?”
I shrug my shoulders, playing dumb. “Not that I can recall.”
“Oh, really?”
“Really.” I give him a wink as I walk past him inside.
My eyes find Jaxon immediately. He’s surrounded by a group of men listening to him talk. He’s such an alpha and everyone in the room knows it. I can feel his commanding presence from here.
“Hey, Stella!” Nixie calls from where she’s sitting at the bar playing on a phone. I go over to her and start playing with her blonde hair as I watch her beat the computer at chess. “How odd that Uncle J didn’t come home last night.”
“That is odd,” I answer as I feel my cheeks start to burn. “I wonder where he slept?”
She turns to me with a look that says ‘how stupid do you think I am?’
“He does look happy,” she says when she turns back to her phone and takes the computer’s queen. “He must have met someone really special.”
“I wonder who that could be,” Roxanne says as she arrives behind the bar.
At first, I think she’s going to be jealous, but then Gage comes behind the bar and slides his hand on her lower back and whispers something in her ear that has her blushing.
I don’t know what’s going on there, but something is going on…
Gage leaves and it’s just us girls again. The bar looks great. All of the broken glass is cleaned up and there’s a bunch of construction guys around repairing shelves and plastering the holes in the walls.
“So, when is he leaving?” Roxanne asks. It’s an innocent question, but it sends my stomach sinking like a stone.
Jaxon said he’s not giving up on us, but what exactly are we?
Is he still going to be interested in a few days or weeks? Is he really willing to move here for me when he has a life back at home?
I get a tenseness in my stomach as I look at him. He’s so hot. He could have any girl he wants and I’m wondering what is going to happen when he crosses one of the gorgeous girls of the town. Is he still going to be interested?
I need some air.
Nixie looks up as I hurry through the bar and out the back door. I take a few big gulps of the warm summer air when I step outside.
“You okay, Stella?” T-Bone asks. He’s sitting on an upside-down crate and smoking a cigarette as he watches me. “Your eye is looking better.”
“Thanks,” I say as I force out a smile. “Yeah, I’m okay. I think.”
Jaxon comes out a few seconds later and asks T-Bone to give us a minute.
“No problem,” T-Bone says as he crushes his cigarette against the brick wall and tosses the butt into the dumpster. “I got
