“Hm,” I say, dubious. “You’re kind of an unthinking asshole from time to time, baby. What if you make me cry without meaning to?”
I’m just kidding, but Luca gets all serious. “I would hate that,” he says, cupping my face. “I’ve spent the last few months making you miserable, me miserable—and for what? I won’t ever do that again. I’ll shout it from the fucking rooftops how much I love you. I’m going to make this City kneel for you, baby bird, and pay their respects like they should. And if I ever do anything that makes you sad again…”
“Yes?”
“Then I’ll apologize like a man and I’ll make it up to you. And then I’ll eat your ass for a whole week, or whatever perverted sex thing you can think of.”
“Oh, baby, I have so many wicked ideas,” I laugh. “I have plans for you.”
He pushes me down in the bed and gets on top so he can suck on my nipples. “Mm, do you?” he murmurs.
