want to run and tempt a fast cat who could ultimately catch me. The big guy would probably enjoy a chase. I imagined myself a red dot and this big cat a sweet grey tabby. Then I thought, nope, I’m a mouse, a huge delicious mouse with fresh blood on my hands.

Even though all my thoughts happened at once, in less than a second, they weren’t as swift as the feline leaping toward me. I fell on my back. The concrete scratched my skin first, then my head hit the ground. Soon, I wished the crack to my head would’ve knocked me out as large sabers pierced my shoulder. I squealed and fought, grabbing handfuls of fur until I heard a much larger… Was that a roar? I froze and the puma froze too, releasing me from the grip of its jowls. Next, something that boggled the mind appeared out of nowhere. A lion, like a proper lion from Africa, made itself known. Standing tall with its stark, long-haired mane that extended past its shoulders and trailed under its belly, this massive animal made the mountain lion look like a kitten.

Was I dreaming? Was there a zoo nearby?

Free, I scrambled up to sit. The two cats took no time to size each other up. Clearly, the mountain lion was no match, but they went at each other, tumbled for a moment and as soon as it slipped free, the mountain lion ran off. Rather than run after him, the lion made his way toward me. If I thought the mountain lion was big at first, this cat was ginormous. Coming in close, its long face seemed larger than life. A wet nose sniffed my hair.

Fear.

Animals could smell fear, so I tried my best not to feel the horror coursing through me. The lion’s snout dropped to my bleeding shoulder. He began to lick my wound, the scratchiness of his large tongue not soothing at all.

Oh, I bet I’m a juicy treat, I thought.

The reality of being his dinner struck me. That’s when my body and mind gave out. When my head hit the ground for a second time, I was out.

It’s as if the bumps and bruises, the pain from the scrapes on my back, woke me. However, the natural brightness of spring coxed me to open my eyes. I was alive, cocooned in the slick covers of a strange bed. I rolled over to be greeted by a huge tattooed back. For a moment, I thought I’d dreamed about the cat fight. That was until I ached again. Something had happened to me. I moaned and the large back shifted, knocking away the sheet. Large letters spelled out, Lions of Legends across the top of the muscular back. Under it, lined in black was a typical biker rocker, reading, Dark Leopards MC with a leopard’s face under it. Carefully as if not to wake him, I peeled down the sheet to see the rest. The bottom rocker read, South Texas.

At least I wasn’t far from home.

Lions and leopards sounded a lot like what I’d experienced last night. If not for the pain, I’d imagine I’d blacked out and dreamed it all. I touched my neck, the only part of me not in pain anymore. No bite. Was I actually on the island with my friends, out drinking and made the terrible life choice of ending up in bed with an outlaw? Sitting up I noticed something else bad, Jonah’s shirt and my underwear was gone.

“Why the fuck am I naked?” I asked aloud, pulling the sheet off the man to cover myself.

The biker, he was also naked and now I could see his butt.

Niiiice.

A voice groaned a response. “I had to get rid of the blood.”

Blood… I remembered Jonah. The last time I saw him he was on the ground bleeding. Leaping from the bed, taking the sheet with me, I shouted, “What did you do with Jonah?”

“Who’s Jonah?” The man slowly sat up on the edge of the bed, his colossal back to me.

“My…” I started. I didn’t know what to call him. “Friend,” I decided.

“Your friend? You two were awfully friendly.”

“What does that mean?” I asked, although I knew what it meant. “I don’t have to explain myself to you.”

The man lit a cigarette. The putrid smell filled the room instantaneously.

I coughed out, “Must you?”

Taking another drag, the guy stood, turning around. Naked as a jay bird, he took yet another puff off his smoke. I couldn’t help but take all of him in. Larger than life, he stood tall, wide and rock hard all over. And yes, I mean all over. I did my best not to look directly at his erect cock. But there it was, kissing his belly button. Spectacular. If there was a cock beauty contest, he’d be the world champion. Hairy, but not Austin Power’s hairy, he was the definition of man. Tattoos littered his arms and legs, some nice and some shoddy. I couldn’t help but notice the tattoos of lions on his arms, two jumping through the same hoop. Meeting his eyes, I could tell he was older than me but still young. I guessed between Jonah’s age and thirty, by appearances alone. However, beards made guys look way older than they were. He donned a light brown thick beard, trimmed close. I’d never much cared for beards but with a cock like that, a girl could compromise. With a matching mane of hair to his shoulders, I understood how I could mistake him for a lion. Then I noticed how familiar he looked in general.

Snuffing out the cigarette, he asked, “Is this the thanks I get for saving you?”

“Saving me?”

“Yes, Romilly, what else?”

“Do I know you?” Before he could answer, I answered, “You’re Locus’s brother… Lucas.” If I sounded shocked, I was. “What the hell?”

Immediately, in front of me, buck naked, he reached out his hand. “Rex Lucas Ellis, to be exact, but here, I’m just Wrex, with
