When I first pitched the idea of this anthology to Liberty, it was because of the trademarking of common words. While the trademark was quickly killed, we decided that the anthology must go on. It was a big idea that I could never have organized and pulled together without Liberty Parker and Screaming Mimi. Without you two ladies, this never would have come together the way it did. You are both amazing authors and friends. Thank you for all your tireless work on bringing this together.
Initially, we thought that we’d only have a few authors and one chapter, each author taking a character. Never would we have imagined the outpour of authors wanting to participate, taking a stand beside us. We went from one chapter in one state to eight chapters spread over two states. It’s a fantastic thing to see so many come together for one common goal. Thank you: Xana Jordan, S.E. Isaac, Josette Reuel, Michelle Savage, Screaming Mimi, Samantha Conley, Lynn Burke, Dawn Sullivan, Evan Grace, JA Lafrance, Eden Rose, Jessica Joy, Samantha McCoy, C.G. Lee, Ember Phoenix, Celle C. Craze, Letha Gene, Jamie Russell, C. J. Pinard, Morgan Jane Mitchell, W.M. Dawson, Misha Elliot, R.R. Born, Darlene Tallman, Mandi Konesni, Maria Vickers, Christine Michelle, Liberty Parker, Lauren Firminger, and Grace Brennan. Thank you for all your hard work and for taking the time away from your schedules to take part in this anthology.
A huge shout out to Golden Czermak, who so generously donated the cover for this anthology. Thank you so much for donating your time and talents to this anthology for a great cause. The cover is gorgeous, and I can’t wait to see the paperbacks on my shelf at home. You are amazing, and we love you.
Thank you to Darlene Tallman and Jamie Caulette King-Hicks. You two are amazing. These two ladies so generously donated their editing services for a good majority of the authors involved. We can’t thank you, ladies, enough for all your hard work in polishing our stories for this anthology.
Liberty Parker, you stepped up and took charge when I didn’t have the time. I can’t thank you enough. On top of everything you did in the organizing of the anthology and writing your own story for it, you also took on the role of formatting everything for us. Thank you. You, my friend, are a rock star.
Lastly, I’d like to thank YOU. Thank you to all the readers who are supporting us and helping us to donate to a worthy cause. All proceeds of this anthology are going to a children’s charity that helps the families of kids who are sick. So, thank you for helping us give back by purchasing this anthology. We couldn’t do what we do without our readers. We love you.
Note to readers:
Please be aware as you read the enclosed stories that we allowed each author to write in their preferred style. This means that some stories are in first person, some are in third. Some have a lot of ‘action’ with the MC, some focus solely on the couples. We hope that you enjoy this anthology!

Prologue
Lux
My life has been anything short of fairy tales and happily ever after’s. As a small child, I was abandoned by my parents and gifted to a witch. I don’t blame Helga in any way whatsoever, she was a good mother figure to me, but I still feel the loss of parental figures, even to this day. Helga has always told me they did it for my safety and to ensure a long, healthy life without fear of being hunted for my special abilities. I’ve been groomed to take over the presidency of the North Texas chapter of the Dark Leopards. Helga made sure that I knew what my role would be, and what my destiny in life is to
