that direction. Instead, I stepped back, quickly turning my gun on the two wolves who were almost on top of me now, pulling the trigger once, then twice. Nailing one in the heart and one between the eyes.

“I will kill you,” Mad Dog promised, yanking the knife from his hand.

Sliding my other gun free, I leveled it on him while I held my other one toward the rest of his crew. “Bring it.”

Shadow

It took us longer to find the Lycaon Wolves than I thought it would. It wasn’t until two days after we stole the shipment of weapons that we tracked them to a small bar on the outskirts of Fort Worth. A part of me wondered what they did to the humans who they were supposed to buy the guns from. Hopefully, for the young guy’s sake, they hadn’t caught up with them, yet. As happy as I was to steal something from the wolves, I didn’t really want the gun smugglers dead. Hell, they could be useful to us in the future.

Rolling into the small parking lot of the rundown bar, Demon and I parked our Harleys on the side of the building, away from the ones that belonged to the Lycaon Wolves. Cutting the engine, I lowered the kickstand, but sat for a moment not moving, rubbing my chest. It ached to the point of being painful, and I frowned as I tried to figure out what was causing it.

“You okay, man?”

I looked over at my little brother, gritting my teeth as I shook my head. Throwing my leg over my bike, I quickly removed my helmet and set it on the seat before I admitted, “I don’t know what the hell’s wrong. Chest hurts.”

Brady’s eyebrow rose, and he scowled. “Better not be having a fucking heart attack or something.”

“No, it’s not that.” At least, I didn’t think it was. “It’s just that my chest hurts.” My brow furrowed as I tried to figure out how to explain it to him. “I feel this need inside of me.”

“Jesus Christ, Shad, I don’t think I want to hear this.”

I shot him a glare, flipping him off. “Not like that. It isn’t sexual, asshole. There’s something pushing at me. Something urgent, like I need to find something or someone. It started a couple of days ago, and the feeling is getting worse.”

Brady paused, his gaze going to the bar before coming back to me. “Well, let’s get this shit handled, and then we will find whatever or whoever it is that you need to find.”

“We need to get back to the club.”

“They’ll wait.”

“Rooster.”

“He’ll be fine.”

“It’s my job to protect him,” I protested, rubbing at the ache in my chest again.

“Big Bry has him.”

He was right, but it didn’t sit right with me being away from the clubhouse for too long.

I’m going to kill him. I’m going to take the bastard out, along with all of his mangy friends.

I froze as the words slipped inside my mind, my hand clenching and unclenching as the low, sexy tone shot sparks of fire straight to my dick.

“Shadow?”

Ignoring my brother, I slowly walked around the side of the building toward the steps, something pulling me to the front door of the bar.

He hurt my sister, and for that, he will die. But, first, I need to find out where she is. I can’t kill him just yet.

“Griff?”

I froze when I felt Brady grab my arm tightly and turned to look at him.

“What is it?” he asked, looking at me intently.

Crap, I can take the two heading my way, but that knife in the hand isn’t going to hold Mad Dog much longer. Here come the other five. Things are about to get interesting.

My panther started prowling back and forth, wanting to break free, and a low growl rumbled in my throat. Breathing in deeply, I felt another growl erupt from my chest as a scent swamped me, rushing over me, making my balls tingle and my fangs drop. “Mate.” I hissed the word, taking the front steps two at a time.

“Shadow, what the fuck is going on?”

I snarled when Brady grabbed my arm, my claws punching through the tips of my fingers. Turning on him, I growled, “She’s in there, with the Lycaon Wolves. She’s going up against them alone.”

“Who?”

“My mate,” I growled, swinging around to slam through the door. I took in the room at a glance, rage filling me at the sight of the woman standing alone against a pack of wolves. My eyes widened when she dropped two of the Lycaons with a Glock, before grabbing another one and pointing it at the man who stood in front of her, the first gun trained on the wolves who were now advancing toward her. There was no way she could get them all.

“Well, this looks like fun,” Brady drawled from beside me, cracking his knuckles as he moved a little further into the room. I followed him until we were standing between five wolves and the woman, my eyes on the biggest threat in the room. Mad Dog Makenzie, the president of the Phoenix chapter of the Lycaon Wolves MC.

“Well, if it isn’t the Blackstone brothers,” Mad Dog spat, grinning in our direction. “This doesn’t concern you, boys. Run along now while I teach this little pussy cat a lesson.”

“This little pussy cat is about to put a fucking bullet in your head if you don’t tell me where my sister is,” the woman growled, her beautiful green eyes sparkling in anger.

“That sweet piece of ass is long gone,” Mad Dog said, throwing his head back and laughing. “You won’t be seeing her again.” Wiping the laughter from his face, he leaned in close to her and snarled, “Ever.”

No! Her facial expression didn’t change, but I heard the agony in that one word she screamed inside her head.

Her pain pushed me over the edge, and I let out a roar, lunging for Mad Dog as Brady stepped
