Synopsis
Dana:
I always knew there was something secretive in our town. I have watched everyone cross to the other side of the street when they see a Dark Leopards MC member. In the back of my mind, I wondered why. There had to have been a reason.
And the secret is about to be exposed when I land into the arms of Axl. Axl is the foul mouthed president of the club and he demands authority. His tattoos, his vocabulary, his demeanor entice me yet scare me away. His charm and his ability to flood my panties with a wicked smile is all it takes for me to let my guard down.
Did I mention one crucial detail? He’s the father of my students.
Axl:

I remember the first time I even heard of The Dark Leopards MC. I was five and at dinner with my parents when the rumbling of their bikes shook the fancy restaurant we were eating at.
My father, being the mayor of the small town we live in, always rolled his eyes whenever someone uttered the club’s name.
“Why do you hate them, dad?” I ask him as I stuff a piece of broccoli in my mouth.
His salt and pepper hair shakes a little from him shaking his head. This is a move I have grown accustomed to. This is what he normally does when he doesn’t want to answer the question because he’s worried about any blow back.
“Dana, sweetie. There are suitable men in this world for you. They are not suitable for my little girl. My little girl is meant for something more than a biker thief.”
In my naïve brain I let what he said go for the time being. As I got older, my father and mother expressed their distaste for the club in many different ways.
When I was ten, a loud thunder of knocks pounded on our door. It woke me up in the middle of the night and I came running from my room.
Being the daughter of the mayor, I never worried about my safety. I always knew I was safe at any given time.
Eager to find out who is knocking on the door, I sit along the edge of the stairs so I can hear what is said. I can’t mistake my dad’s angry voice and him telling my mom to go back to bed.
“Debbie, go back to bed! I’ll handle this!” He barks at her.
My mom’s little frame is tucked behind him. “Honey, who’s at our door? It’s the middle of the night.”
“I’m not sure. Get up to our room. I’ll answer it and then be up in a minute.”
I can hear her scoff and start going up the stairs. Quickly, I flatten myself up against the wall a little more to hide myself. I can’t let her know I was listening. She will tell my dad and he will get mad at me for eavesdropping.
My mom walks past me without even noticing me, which is a good thing. The last thing I need is to get in trouble so close to when my birthday party is.
“What do you want, Red?” My dad demands.
“Burns, we gotta talk about the problem.”
“What problem are you talking about?”
The man at the door leans on the hinge. “You know which problem we’re talking about. The problem about the other club comin’ into our fuckin’ property. You promised us you would make sure the others stayed out of our land.”
My dad chuckles deep in his throat. This is a sound I have come to know as he’s getting frustrated with the situation. “I didn’t promise anything. You and I both know I can’t do anything to stop those assholes from peddling that shit in my town.”
He must be really mad. When he’s talking to other people, he typically doesn’t cuss like this. In fact, I have only heard him swear a couple of times.
“You promised, Burns! I’m gettin’ tired of havin’ to come back here and havin’ these conversations with you! Either you get it fixed now, or we’re gonna have problems.”
My dad chuckles again. This time, he stands taller and looks straight at Red. This is the first time I have actually looked up to see what Red looks like. He looks like the devil himself in front of the door. He looks
