feet so we’ll have to look at hirin’ more managers. Plus, with the changes we’re makin’, the money will be rollin’ in.”

Suddenly, Wade blurted, “I’m lookin’ at gettin’ my own place soon. Right now, I live at the compound, but I want a place to call my own. Somewhere Lucas will feel comfortable to be, and it’ll be in a safer area.”

My heart felt like it was pumping so hard to get out of my chest and jump out at Wade to curl up in a purring heap in his lap.

I dropped my fork and turned to him.

“Shit, we’re about to see more PDA. Mom, get a gag bag ready for me.”

“Shut it, Zion,” Mom said, and her voice sounded like she was on the verge of tears.

“You are?” I asked Wade softly.

“Yeah, babe. Can’t live in the compound forever.” His hand left my neck to tuck some hair behind my ear, then he placed it back. He was grinning at me and I wanted to kiss him so much.

Dang it all.

Wade met me halfway and right there in front of my parents, we shared a sweet, soft kiss. We only pulled away when Zion started gagging.

Still having his gaze, I told him, “You know I’m not happy because you’re getting a house, right? I don’t want you to think that. I just think it’s the sweetest thing ever that you thought of me with the choices you made.”

“We’re together, yeah?”

“Well, yes.” I nodded.

He tipped his chin up at me, as if that was answer enough. Then he added, “At least then I’ll know you’ll be there safe, under the alarm system, so you can study and I won’t have to worry you’re surrounded by fuckheads who’ll take advantage of you when you’re in a zone.”

Zion snorted, then laughed with Dad.

Mom, who was smiling like a madwoman, said, “He really does go into a zone.”

Wade sighed. “He does. Totally oblivious to what’s around him. You can’t do that at the compound. I’ve already heard the brothers sayin’ how good-lookin’ you are. I do not share.”

“They have?”

“That’s what you pick to say?” Wade growled.

“Um, no, I’m only worried about a certain man thinking I’m good-looking.” I scoffed. “Who cares about the others.”

He tugged me in, kissed me hard and quickly, and then said, “Exactly.”

Chapter Twenty

Wreck

By the time dinner finished and all questions were out of the way, we stood at the front door saying goodbye to Lucas’s parents. For now. Apparently, they wanted to get to know me because Lucy said she could see good things for Lucas and me. Hell, my chest puffed out at the comment because it sounded like she accepted me being with her son.

Saint was driving them over to their aunt’s place. I’d already moved my bike and after Lucy gave out hugs, and Gerry handshakes, they were in the car waiting on Saint.

“I’m headin’ to the compound after,” he said.

I curled Lucas into my side with an arm around his shoulders. “If you could not talk about this to the brothers, it’d be appreciated. I’ll be bringin’ it up at the next church.”

He eyed us just as Lucas wrapped his arms around my middle. He sighed. “Fine.” He started for the car in the garage. “Oh, and keep your naked bits to the bedroom.”

“Unfair,” Lucas called. “I still have nightmares about you doing women over furniture.”

Saint chuckled. “Good times. But seriously, this is my house. No fuckin’ in the livin’ room or kitchen.”

“We haven’t even done that,” Lucas blurted and then buried his head into my chest from embarrassment. He missed Saint stumbling forward. He spun back with wide eyes and stared at me.

“Holy fuck, you really do care,” he stated.

I nodded.

He gave me a salute. “Respect, brother. Respect.” As soon as he disappeared into the garage, I guided Lucas back into the house and locked the door behind us.

“You want dessert?” I asked, with a quirk of an eyebrow. I thinned my lips to stop from grinning when Lucas blushed. “Babe, I’m talkin’ about ice cream.” I pulled him to the couch and sat on it, maneuvering him onto my lap easily because he was tiny. Just the right size for me though. “I remember someone eatin’ outta the container when I walked into the house.”

He rolled his eyes. “That wasn’t a good night…. Well, it ended up being, but when you saw me, I was devastated you were with a woman.”

“Devastated?” I questioned.

“Completely.”

Lucas bit his bottom lip when I ran my hands up and down his waist. “Hmm, sounds like I have to make it up to you.”

He shook his head. “Nope, you already did when you kissed me that night.”

“Really?”

He nodded, and I tugged him forward so he could feel my hard-on. He gasped and smiled softly. When he rocked against me, I groaned.

“Then you let me know if there’s anythin’ else I can do for you,” I told him against his neck before I bit there.

“Oh… um, you were talking about dessert before.”

I ran my tongue up the side of his neck and sucked in his earlobe. Once again, he rocked against me, his breathing erratic. “I was,” I said. “Have you thought of somethin’?”

“Y-Yes,” he whispered, and my cock jerked. I glided my hands up and under his tee, running my thumbs over and around his taut nipples.

“What’s that, babe?”

He moaned and ground down over me again. I gripped his hips to stop him, or I’d be coming in my jeans. Christ, my guy’s body, his words, his voice, everything about him made me crazy.

“I… I love it when you call me that,” he admitted. When I saw his eyes glaze, I knew he had. His body relaxed, the pulse in his neck beating hard. I liked giving it to him, liked getting any reaction out of him.

“Babe,” I muttered against his neck. He rocked down, at least tried, but I had a hold of him. “What dessert are you after?”

“You. Just you.”

He gasped when I gripped
