Holly laced her fingers through one of his hands. His eyes searched her face. His gaze softened. Holly smiled up at him before letting him touch his lips to hers.
CHAPTER 27 – Holly
She went from zero to one hundred the moment he kissed her. Well, maybe not zero. She was naked in his arms. It was hard to be at zero while nude in someone’s embrace. His kiss pushed the chill from her body. While the cold water slid over her skin, heat radiated from deep inside her. The conflicting sensations heightened everything she felt. The water’s touch was almost as seductive as Keller’s. His free hand slipped down her bare back. Just that light touch alone was enough to elicit a small gasp from Holly.
She wound her legs around his waist so she could use her other hand without drifting away from him. Immediately, she felt his hard cock push against her. Something inside her snapped. Maybe it was because this wasn’t her first time, so there was no need to stand on ceremony. Perhaps it was because she was powerless against the desire she felt for Keller. All she knew was that if he didn’t take her, she’d go mad.
As if he was reading her mind, he positioned himself between her legs and slowly entered her. She cried out louder than she meant to, but it wasn’t as if anyone was around to hear them. Holly wound her arms around Keller’s neck and hugged herself against him, pulling him deeper inside of her. It was difficult to explain, especially since her brain was currently being overloaded with every pleasurable sensation, but being with him felt right. This didn’t feel like their first time together. He knew how to read her body before she even knew what she wanted.
There was an innate sense of knowing between them. She’d only just learned about his past, yet somehow, she felt like she already knew him. She’d never experienced anything like that before, not even with Johnny.
Maybe he’s the one I’m meant to be with, she thought, then instantly regretted it. The moment she thought about the prophecy, or anything other than Keller and his magical touch, she felt nervous. She pushed the thoughts as far away from her mind as she could. She wasn’t going to let those expectations, that pressure, ruin her special moment with Keller. He didn’t deserve it and, frankly, neither did she.
He sensed her hesitation and slowed his steady pass. Holly kissed him hard in a silent plea to keep going. He pressed his hands into the small of her back, pushing her against him. Holly rocked with him, resting her forehead against his cheek, and taking in every little sensation. The strong, steady stroke of his cock. The callouses on his hands as he caressed her bare back. The tiny, playful laps of water that tickled her skin.
She closed her eyes, letting the soothing sound of the waterfall seep into her. Birds chirped. Wind shivered through the leaves. Keller’s breathing as he slid in and out of her. She placed her palm flat on his chest, over his heart. She felt its steady beat.
She lifted her head and pulled back just enough to look into his eyes. They were filled with a raw expressiveness she hadn’t seen before. His walls were down, and he was allowing her to see who he truly was.
Holly took her hand from his chest and placed it on his cheek. He slid a hand up her back, pulling her upper body closer to his. He kissed her gently. That little bit of contact, that small brush of their lips, was enough to send Holly over the edge. It started deep and low inside her and swept through every inch of her. She clenched, tightening her legs around his waist.
Keller drove deeper, clutching her against him like his life depended on it, as he found his release right alongside her. When the waves of pleasure subsided, Holly still clung to him. She didn’t want to let go. She didn’t want anything, even the water, to cleave them apart.
But then the cold began to set back in. Goose bumps rose up over every inch of her. Her teeth chattered. She buried closer to Keller, eager to absorb, his warmth but it wasn’t working as well as it had when she first got in.
“Your lips are going to turn blue if we aren’t careful,” he murmured. Pressing kisses onto her forehead as he moved, he waded back to the edge of the spring. With one swift motion, he lifted her out of the water. At first, Holly felt even colder. Then, she realized he’d placed her in a pool of sunlight. Slowly, it started to warm her chilly skin.
Her body felt heavy and weightless at the same time. She was reminded of sleepy afternoons at the beach or long naps on the porch. She felt lazy and happy.
Keller pulled himself up beside her. He allowed himself a few minutes to dry off before he put an arm around her and pulled her back to him. His skin felt like a heating stone. She curled against him, savoring the warmth. Once her shivering subsided, he stood up.
“I’ll fetch your clothes.” He grinned.
“What about you? Are you just going to walk naked through the woods?” She chuckled.
“It wouldn’t be the first time.” He grinned.
“Have you ever thought about joining one of those all-natural shifter clans Johnny mentioned the other night?” Holly wondered.
“I have.” He nodded. “It just seems like a simpler way of living, you know?”
“I can see that.” She nodded. “My basis for comparison isn’t that solid, but you seemed very at home in your bear form.”
“I used to shift a lot when I was growing
