the phone from my ear for a brief second to gain some control. With my other hand, I pinch the bridge of my nose before putting the phone back to my ear. “That’s my fuckin’ daughter and I want her back. Her family wants her back. Now, I suggest you either bring her to me or tell me where to meet you,” I say through clenched teeth.

“You all may want her back, but do you deserve to have her back? As I see it, you failed to protect her once. What’s to say it won’t happen again?” Scorch scoffs.

“Look, motherfucker, I don’t fuckin’ know you and you sure as hell don’t know me. Corinne isn’t mine by blood, but she is my daughter. Just like her brother. I’d die before ever seeing her hurt. I haven’t even been home since the day she and her brother were kidnapped. I haven’t seen my ol’ lady, who was beaten. Or been able to get shit under control there because I’m not going home without my daughter,” I snap, sitting on the side of the bed and putting my boots on.

“You can meet me at the Eure at noon,” Scorch states before disconnecting.

Pulling the phone from my ear, I shove it in my pocket and pull out my everyday use phone. I shoot a quick text to both Tracker and Blaze, telling them to meet me outside. Shoving my keys and wallet into my pocket and heading for the door, I know I won’t be able to ride given the fact if Scorch’s right, I should be getting Corinne back. I make my way toward Horse’s room to grab the keys to his truck. It’ll be easier for him and I to swap for now and he can bring my bike home for me.

“What’s up, Pops?” he grunts as he cracks the door open.

“Need the keys to your truck,” I say.

“You find her?” he asks.

“More than likely,” I nod.

“Want me to ride with you?”

“No. If it’s legit and I get her, I’m heading straight back to the clubhouse. I’ll need you to bring my bike and get your truck,” I state.

“At least that’s a fair trade. Don’t fuck my truck up,” Horse grumbles as he moves back from the door, leaving it cracked open. A moment later, he’s back and we switch keys.

“Good thing you leave your truck here,” I smirk, knowing his reasons.

“Yeah, it keeps Kenny out of the driver’s seat. She has her own vehicle. I don’t need her driving my girl,” Horse grunts.

“Hey, I heard that, jerk,” Kenny says loud enough for us to hear.

“Love you too, Sweet girl,” Horse grins.

He may love Kenny and his kids, but nobody is allowed to drive his truck or ride his bike. Well, besides me, and that’s because I’m his dad.

“I’ll call you later,” I say as I turn to leave.

As soon as I’m outside, I find both Tracker and Blaze sitting on their bikes, ready to go. I’d sent Coyote home earlier in the week to help handle a run we had scheduled.

“What’s goin’ on, Prez,” Blaze asks as I walk past them to get to Horse’s truck parked at the end of the lot.

“Found her” is all that needs to be said.

We make it to Eure right at noon and pull into the only parking lot in the area. Turning the truck off, I hop out and am about to pull my phone out to find out where Venom is when the sounds of motorcycles come from down the road.

“Who are we meeting here?” Tracker asks as he gets off his bike.

“President of the Royal Bastards,” I say right as a couple bikes pull into the parking lot followed by an SUV.

Tracker furrows his brow at me but keeps his mouth shut. We both know this could easily end up being a trap just as much as it could be anything else.

As they all come to a stop directly in front of the three of us, I hold my breath and wait.

I know exactly which one of them is Scorch from the moment they get off their bikes. He stands a good foot in front of the rest of his guys, the same way Blaze and Tracker stand behind me.

“Surprised you didn’t bring every man you had with you,” Scorch mocks.

“Didn’t think that would be needed,” I retort. “Now, where’s my daughter?”

“She’s in the backseat safe and sound,” he says, tilting his head toward the SUV. “Before I get her out, you should know two things. One, the man who was trying to sell her is also in that SUV, but he’s tied up in the back of it. Second, the men he was attempting to sell her to belong to the Alcazar Cartel.”

I tense further at the mention of the Alcazar Cartel. The Dragon’s Fire MC had tried to start a war between them, the Diaz Cartel, and the DRMC.

“I want Jackal. His ass is mine,” I snarl.

“Fine with me, just leave the Alcazar Cartel out of it,” Scorch orders, narrowing his eyes on me.

“I’ll only agree to that if you can tell me they didn’t touch my daughter,” I challenge, taking a step forward.

Scorch’s nostrils flare as he also steps forward until we're standing toe to toe. “Even if the motherfuckers had, they’re off fuckin’ limits to your ass,” he growls.

“I’m not playing whose dick is bigger with you. All I want to know is if any of them touched my daughter. If they didn’t touch Corinne, then have at them. If they did, then I’ll be putting my hand in the pot to get the man or men who thought it was okay to buy a little girl who’s not even five months old,” I sneer.

Scorch and I stare each other down for a brief moment in time. When he finally steps back, he’s smirking. “You know, I could get along with you if I actually was looking for friends, but unfortunately for you, I’m
