I wake up and I’m being carried over Rick’s shoulder into the elevator. “You can put me down in the elevator,” he might want some elevator action.
“No. I’m not putting you down until we’re home,” he says in a tone I’m not familiar with.
“Are you okay?” I ask unsure.
“I am now. I couldn’t find you and it reminded me that you know how to hide from me.” His brain is playing games with his heart.
“I’m right here and I’m not going anywhere. Remember? You moved into my place and made it our place. You don’t need to worry. If you want to worry about something, it’d be how to get rid of me.”
“Don’t even joke. I don’t want you to ever leave,” he says seriously and sets me down so he can put his arms around me and kiss me senseless. We get home and he unlocks the door, locks it behind us and takes me to bed.
Rick holds me close, whispering in my ear, “I love you, Sherry. You’re my only. Never leave me.” He kisses me softly, then again tenderly, but not stopping. His lips on mine sweetly, sucking and nibbling at me like I’m his favorite dessert. He keeps kissing me while I kick off my sneakers and he pushes my jeans off. He can’t help himself. I know what he’s feeling now. He needs to feel me and know I’m here, we’re here together. I reach to help him with his pants, but they’re already gone. He continues kissing me with need and takes me as his slowly. Pushing into me all the way, his body relaxes when he’s finally home. He lays his head on my pillow next to mine, his weight delicious on top of me.
I put my arms around him, “I’m yours, Rick. I’m not going anywhere, unless I’m going there with you. There’s no one else for me. I love you, my king,” in the sweetest voice I’ve ever heard come out of me. Still don’t have a clue where it came from.
He turns to me, with the biggest grin ever and his lips are back on mine while he makes love to me for hours, never taking his lips off of me and sending me to unknown places more than once.
Chapter Five
I wake up early, nervous about the two most important people in my life meeting and go for the always soothing frosted chocolate mini donuts. I inhale almost half a bag of the heavenly bites and climb back in bed quietly hoping I wasn’t missed.
Rick reaches for me, “Where’d you go?” as he pulls me to him and puts his lips on mine. He licks my lips and sucks my tongue into his mouth with a low groan. “Were you eating chocolate?”
“Mini frosted chocolate donuts,” I confess. “Do you want one?” I offer as I pick up the bag I had dropped at the side of the bed for easy access. He takes three from the bag and I pop another one in my mouth before they all disappear.
“Why are you up so early?” he says with his mouth full.
“Not sure. Maybe I’m nervous about you meeting Mom,” I say knowing that’s exactly the problem.
“No reason to worry. Your Mom will love me. I promise. Mom’s always like me.” He says with confidence.
“You don’t know my Mom.”
“All your Mom wants is for you to be happy and if that means there’s a man involved, he better treat you right. I already told her I love you and I’m not letting you go.” He stops. He looks at me seriously, gazing into my eyes. “I mean it. I love you and I’m never letting you go,” he says realizing I may need to hear it. He kisses me and makes me feel like the only woman in the world.
I smell the coffee calling me, get two cups and take them back to bed with me, along with my laptop. Rick looks at me appreciatively and frowns, “Laptop in bed?”
“I want to do a quick email and social media check. Same as almost every other day, but I want to stay in bed with you, too,” I smile and gesture to my still mostly naked body. “I have to keep up on business and I did share my donuts with you.” Rick groans at me. “You’d prefer I did it somewhere else? I can take it in the other room.”
“No,” as he puts his hand around my ass and snuggles up against me. “You don’t need to worry about that stuff. I’ll cover everything for you. I want to take care of you.”
I ignore him because I don’t work that way. I need to be able to take care of myself. I’m independent and don’t want to answer to anyone about what I do with my money.
I check my messages, email and social media. I have a few texts, some emails and a new social media post. One of my customers posted pictures of the trip they’re on right now on my page and tagged all their friends—I love it! I read my texts:
Text from Sam – Tell me everything is okay. Rick didn’t call me.
Text from Adam - I’m in San Diego for work this weekend. I’m hoping you’ve gotten over your boyfriend and would like to
