then scissored them apart to stretch her unused muscles.

He looked up, his face granite hard, a fierce glint in his green eyes. “You should not have told me that.”

She didn’t push her luck by asking why. Instead, she whispered, “I don’t understand you.”

“I know, little one, and that’s the crux of it, isn’t it?” Dipping his head, he licked over her folds and then shifted his laser-sharp gaze up again. “Don’t think, just let me give you what you need. Isn’t that what I’ve always done?”

He didn’t wait for her answer before bending to use his teeth on her soft labia. Leaning her head back, she closed her eyes and embraced the needle-prick pain with a quiver, welcoming the distraction and the arousal already threatening her sanity. Or, maybe it was just Gavin who was driving her insane. As he soothed her tender skin with his stroking tongue and roaming lips, she decided she didn’t care right now. The sharp pinpricks spread across her sensitive skin, sending her blood rushing south in a torrential flow of sizzling heat. Several more seconds of him stretching her pussy while tormenting her tender outer flesh threw her into a tailspin of building pressure. Shaking from the unexpected onslaught, she gripped the rail tighter, anchoring herself against the escalating pleasure. Just when she didn’t think she could wait another minute, he pulled his fingers out and lifted her left leg over his shoulder, opening her further.

The wood dug into Aislyn’s palms as she arched back, praying he didn’t stop this time. The calloused pad of one thumb abraded her clit as he slid the hand behind her between her buttocks and pushed that thumb past her sphincter. A whole new wave of sensations were unleashed as he thumb-fucked her orifices with the fine-tuned skills of a maestro, bringing her to a crescendo of pleasure she had failed to achieve since the last time they were together. Tears pricked her eyes as he went deeper into her rectum and replaced his other thumb with his mouth, wrapping his lips around her clit. He sucked and she whimpered with a tight contraction; he licked and she cried out; he bit and she screeched; he milked the aching bundle of nerves with his lips and she exploded. Mind-numbing, body-gripping pleasure spiraled through her body, leaving her shaking from the fiery intensity consuming her. Jerking her hips against his mouth, riding the thumb jamming in and out of her butt, she was swept away to that pane where nothing existed, nothing mattered but this, and him.

Her labored breathing drowned out the night noises and Gavin’s low praise muttered against her saturated, convulsing flesh as the convulsions dwindled to smaller spasms. A tremor went through her from the slow withdrawal of his thumb, the emptiness emphasizing a tinge of soreness from that unaccustomed invasion. She figured her mind must still be fogged when she found herself craving a return of those rough abrasions.

By the time she returned to her senses, Gavin was pulling up her shorts and lifting her into his arms. His lips glistened with her slick arousal, and for a second she thought he would kiss her, ached for him to do so. Instead, he pulled back and carried her inside. Her mind whirling with possibilities, she somehow wasn’t surprised when he tucked her into bed and left her with a gruff warning.

“Tomorrow we talk.”

Chapter Five

Tomorrow we talk. Nerves skittered under Aislyn’s skin as she padded down the hall toward the kitchen the next morning. Those words had kept her from sleep last night, ruining the calming effects of that stress-relieving orgasm. She should either get up the nerve to talk to him or leave. In the few days she’d been here, she hadn’t come up with a solution to prove her innocence of Heath’s lies, and couldn’t think of a thing Gavin could do to help. The warrant would be waiting for her no matter how long she hid out here, and she fretted over bringing trouble to his doorstep after seeing a whole new side of him since arriving. His enjoyment of working the ranch, the close bond he shared with his brothers and ranch hands, the contentment he seemed to get from spending his days, and some nights roaming the outdoors, his affinity with those wolves last night. Everything appeared to fit him here in a way living in the city never could. There was something of the untamed wildness surrounding him out here often reflected in his eyes, most notably after she’d caught him returning from a night walk in the woods, a feral gleam she’d found both unnerving and exciting.

Now she understood why he had wanted to come back, and why he did’t ask her to accompany him. He teasingly dubbed her a ‘city girl’ but that was an apt label to pin on her. Even after spending her entire life growing up in Idaho’s capital, she had never desired to live elsewhere or outside of the city. In just a few days, she had discovered the appeal of ranch life, or maybe it was Gavin who made her long to hang around.

Aislyn stumbled to a stop as she reached the kitchen, that jarring suggestion causing a tight clutch around her heart. I don’t want to leave. Was the reason she kept putting off asking him for help so simple? Had she made excuses for her procrastination so she could stay longer, because she couldn’t bear going back to missing him day and night? Gavin wasn’t waiting for her and the letdown of spotting the note beside the coffee pot answered her question. She had never gotten over him but had thought she could handle seeing him again, being with him again without letting herself wish for more. How wrong she was, she realized now.

Picking up the note, she read it with a sinking heart.
