Ava’s dancing to the music coming from Laken’s iPhone. “Wook at me, Daddy.”

I pick her up, taking her little hand in mine, and we start dancing around the room. She smiles so wide, and I can’t help but to return it. When the song ends, I give her a smooch on the cheek.

Laken watches from the opening of the kitchen. There is no hiding the tears that slide down her cheeks. I pull her into my arms. “What is it, baby?”

“You’re a really good dad, Chance. Thank you for giving her that.” She rests her forehead against my chest. “I have something to tell you.”

“Baby, you can tell me anything. What’s going on?” My heart beats wildly in my chest. What if she’s about to tell me she wants to leave and go back to California?

“R-remember our first night here? Your parents kept Ava at the hotel with them, and we christened the wall in our bedroom.” I nod and smile. That was a good night. “Chance, I’m pregnant.”

I freeze. She’s pregnant? My baby is inside her? I don’t even know what to say right now, but Laken takes my silence the wrong way.

“I know we’re young; we just graduated. The timing is totally not right for this, but I’m happy. Are you happy?”

I drop to my knees and place my lips on her lower stomach. Laken’s fingers spear through my hair. I look up at her, and she’s never looked more beautiful. As I stand, I lift her in a bear hug. “You’re having my baby. Oh fuck yes, that makes me happy. I know we planned to wait, but maybe this baby was ready to meet us so bad that they decided now was the time.”

“I want to wait until after I see the doctor before we tell anyone, if that’s okay? I also want to tell Ava first,” she says quietly.

“Okay, whatever you want. FYI, if this kid is half as amazing as Ava, we’re going to be really lucky.”

We get dinner on the table, and as the three of us sit together I feel lucky that it was Laken’s parking space I decided to steal that day. Dad always told me when I found the one, I’d just know. Little did I know, I’d find two.

Laken’s pussy ripples around my cock as she comes hard. She moans into my mouth, gripping my ass in her hands. I pump once, twice, and then come inside her. We kiss as we’re both hit with little aftershocks.

Her pussy tries to hold onto me when I try to pull out. I fall to my back and pull her into my side. I rest my hand on her lower stomach. I’m still in awe—my baby is growing right there. I won’t lie, I’m a little worried about what our parents will say.

“I want us to get married before the baby is born.”

“We should go to Vegas. I turn twenty-one in a month, and we can go then. We’ll fly out on Friday and home on Sunday. Maybe my parents could come and stay with Ava.”

I like the sound of Vegas. We could get married Friday night, and then we could spend all of Saturday in the bed or in the pool. “Okay, let me talk to my job and make sure I can get a Friday off. If your parents can’t come, I’ll see if mine can, or we’ll just bring Ava and tell them to come to Vegas.”

“We’re getting married. We’re having a baby,” she whispers before kissing the underside of my chin.

“I love you, Laken.”

“I love you, Chance.” She starts to cry. “I-I’m sorry I’m so emotional. I am just so happy.”

“I’m happy too, baby. I can’t wait until we start making so many new memories.” Laken falls asleep almost immediately, and instead of letting myself fall asleep, I listen to the sound of her breathing.

“Laken, I’m going to make you the happiest woman on earth,” I whisper against her forehead. She sighs and snuggles in deep. Only then do I let myself fall asleep.

Epilogue I

Laken

Seven months later

I take Aubrey’s hand as she helps me up the bleachers, groaning as I sit on the uncomfortable metal. I rest a hand on my large belly and sigh. I’m nine months, or forty weeks and one day pregnant. I swear this baby does not want to leave.

This has been the world’s easiest pregnancy, and apparently it’s caused baby Bateman to stay inside me permanently. Chance and Aubrey flew in last night, and my parents arrive tomorrow. I’ll be getting induced in two days, but I’m hoping to go into labor before that.

We don’t know what we’re having, opting to be surprised. Chance thinks we’re having a girl, but honestly I feel it’s a boy. As long as it’s healthy, I really don’t care what it is. Ava has requested it be a puppy.

A lot has happened since I found out I was pregnant. We got married six months ago in Vegas. Chance arranged for us to get married in the same chapel that his parents got married in, Fake Weddings Here. It was run by new people, but still it was a short, beautiful ceremony.

Our parents handled the news of my pregnancy well, but they all had their concerns because we are young and just starting our life. But Chance and I are strong, solid, and devoted to each other.

Five months ago we started the paperwork and a month after that, Chance officially became Ava’s father. We also bought our first home. It’s a three bedroom ranch that is a fixer upper, but we got it for a good price, and are doing a lot of the renovations ourselves.

We’ve definitely started to make it our home, and I can’t wait until we’re bringing our new baby home.

Aubrey, places her hand on my arm, and I look at my mother-in-law. “How’s your back?”

“Hurts. They’re estimating the baby is about nine pounds. I can tough it out though. I
