“I see it!” Luke said, watching my face carefully. “You’re coming with me, I can see it in your eyes!”
“We’ll figure it out,” I said sternly.
“Yaaaaay!” Luke cried, twirling in circles, “that means yes!”
I sighed. I couldn’t say no to him. “Yeah, I guess it does.”
But even though I was acting grumpy, I couldn’t deny that there was excitement bubbling in my gut for our next adventure. Everything around me was going to change, but one thing was going to stay solid.
Luke twirled into my arms, and I pulled him into an embrace, nuzzling his neck.
The mood suddenly shifted to serious. Then he said, “You are… you’re everything I ever imagined I wanted in a man.”
I pulled him close, feeling his heartbeat against mine, letting the compliment sink in. “I’m honored,” I said, planting a kiss on his lips.
The kiss turned lustful as the heat felt like it was being turned up in the room. When he pulled away for a second, I could see his blue eyes had turned dark with want.
“Tell me what you want, Master…” Luke said softly.
The sound of his voice all husky like that sent pulses of desire straight to my cock.
“Call me sir, boy,” I barked.
“Yes, sir.”
“Get on your knees,” I urged.
Luke maintained eye contact with me as he sunk to his knees.
“You’re so obedient to your master,” I muttered, “such a good boy…”
He was undoing my belt, letting my throbbing cock spring free.
Needless to say, we ended up in my playroom for the next few hours.

That night, I made dinner for the both of us, Luke’s favorite: Seared salmon with farro and squash salad. We were out on my back porch with glasses of wine, watching the lake.
Laura was waiting for my text on the other side of the lake, where people were waiting to launch fireworks into the sky.
Once I served dinner, we talked jovially together, the conversation flowing easily.
He had no idea.
We talked about the future, what things would be like for us in New York, and all of the fun things we would do.
“And we could go visit your parents once in a while, and my mom could come and visit me, oh how she’d love New York…”
“I’ve already been looking at apartments in the Upper East Side,” I admitted.
Luke balked. “I didn’t know you had that much money…”
I smiled. “I can afford it.”
“Wow…” Luke said in a daze.
“You’ll be within walking distance of Parson’s,” I said, painting the picture of our future for him. “And I’ll be within walking distance of the station.”
“You’ll have fun with better cases, and keep the city safe,” he said, taking a sip of his wine.
“Cheers to that,” I said. I couldn’t believe that earlier in the day I had to chew on this idea of moving. It just made sense to follow Luke to New York.
Once we finished our dinner, I brought out the dessert I’d made while Luke was working on that tuxedo earlier: Baked Alaska.
His eyes went wide with joy when I set down the mountain of cream and ice cream in front of him, then he looked at me suspiciously. “What’s the occasion?”
“Oh nothing, just celebrating having you here this weekend,” I said mysteriously.
We dug through the dessert ravenously, then when we were finished, silence hung in the air.
It was time.
“Luke, there’s something I wanted to say to you…”
He sat up straight, fear coming over his face.
“Come, stand with me over here next to the railing.”
He stood up and joined me, overlooking the lake. But I was facing him, holding his hands in mine. He looked up into my eyes and said, “Adam, what is this…?”
Then I got down on one knee and his eyes went wide with the realization.
“Adam!” he exclaimed.
“Luke, in the past few months, you’ve become my everything,” I said, looking up into his face. “Please, can I call you my everything forever?”
I pulled the small square box out of my back pocket and opened it to him.
His mouth was wide open; he was speechless as his eyes took in the glimmering silver ring in the box.
“I— of course I do!” he said, clasping his hand to his chest as tears began to pour out of his eyes.
“Then you’ve made me the happiest man in the world,” I said, rising to my full height as I slid the ring onto his delicate finger.
Tears were leaking out of my eyes too as I held him tight. Pulling my phone out of my pocket, I tapped a quick message to Laura.
Then the fireworks boomed over the lake, the bright red, gold, and blue colors exploding like confetti.
“I love you so much!” Luke said, holding me tight while tears poured down his face.
“I love you too, babe,” I said.
And for the first time in my life, I knew that I had everything. It was all here in my arms.
