Robert stroked himself as Landon fucked him. Nothing could compare to the way Landon made him feel. Liquid fire ran down his spine as his body exploded from the inside out. Their gazes locked as Landon changed his position, gripping Robert’s hips tighter, and pressed deep into him, fucking him so hard that the sound of their bodies coming together echoed through the room.
He couldn’t stop the freight train of a release that barreled down on him. He slammed his eyes shut, overwhelmed at the power and connection of it all. Waves of pleasure sent nerve-searing vibrations along his body and bowled him over.
“Landon, yessss. Don’t stop.” His hot release landed on his chest and stomach. His ass clenched around Landon as he struggled to catch his breath.
“Fuckkk, Robert… I’m—” Landon thrust into him one last time then dropped down to kiss him. Landon’s movements froze as their bodies seized together. Their tongues curled and prodded as they panted into each other’s mouths.
Landon’s weight kept him from floating away as he struggled to calm his racing heart.
“Damn, Doc. You wore me out.” Landon pushed to his hands, favoring his casted arm as he smiled down at him with that crooked grin that made his insides all goofy.
“Back to Doc, huh?” Robert chuckled and slid his hands up Landon’s ass. “I’m so blissed out right now that it sounds sexy. How’s the arm?”
“You’re definitely sexy, and it’s fine—forget about it most of the time.” Landon leaned down and kissed him long and hard.
Robert’s mind went blank, and he melted into the kiss.
Chapter 16
Robert stared down at the sleeping man beside him, his heart overwhelmed with all the emotions running through him. Dark hair and beautiful full lips, the man stole his logic with every kiss. Even though Landon’s eyes were closed, the thought of their intensity pierced Robert’s soul, the memory branded on him forever. Being with Landon had been magical; they shared an unexplainable connection that upended all reason. He usually didn’t sleep much, but tonight, he’d slept for hours with Landon curled around him.
From the moment he’d spotted Landon crossing the street until right this minute, the night had been enchanting. More than anything, Robert wanted Landon not only in his bed, but in his life. He wanted a relationship, something meaningful and long-term. He wanted to lose himself in Landon and have Landon lose himself in him. Yes, this was all new to him and fast, but after last night, there was no doubt Landon was meant to be his.
He lifted his hand, carefully brushing a small wisp of hair off Landon’s forehead, taking a full inventory of Landon’s face, hoping to commit every gorgeous detail to memory. “Doc, I can feel you staring at me. Why aren’t you sleeping?”
“I’m not much of a sleeper.” Robert smiled when Landon’s eyes opened and immediately found his.
“Do I need to leave your room so you can sleep?” Landon asked softly.
Those words made his heart drum frantically. He never wanted the man to leave. Landon belonged in his bed. It was like Landon to give him an out, though, showing how considerate he was. Robert wanted to give that back tenfold.
“Not at all. I like knowing you’re in my bed.” Robert grinned. He was so out of practice at this kind of thing and hoped his flirting was obvious.
“Do I need to be awake because you’re awake, because I seriously need some rest. You stressed me the fuck out, trying to get ready for our non-date date. And then you kept me up until all hours of the night…” Landon couldn’t finish the sentence from the involuntary jaw-cracking yawn tearing free.
Robert laughed at the honesty of Landon’s refreshing remarks. There was no coy game-playing. Landon had been open and upfront so far as he could tell. At least he’d always know exactly where he stood with his man. “I’ll let you sleep, but I’m going to get up for a while. Are you good with that?”
“I feel like this is a trick question or a test of some sort. Should I get up too?” Landon asked, his sentence ending with him lifting his head, trying to rise.
“No.” Robert pressed a hand on Landon’s chest, keeping him down. “You go back to sleep. We’ve only been asleep a couple of hours. I’m going to clean myself up.” As he spoke, he untangled himself from the warmth of Landon’s body and tucked the blankets back around the alluring man then kissed his lips. “You’re tempting as sin and gorgeous in my bed.”
“You too, Doc,” Landon mumbled with a sleepy smile.
“Call me Robert. I like hearing you say it.”
“Got it…”
Robert waited, watching Landon, who had closed his eyes. Maybe as much as a minute passed before Landon opened one eye, looking straight at him.
“What?” A big grin parted Landon’s lips, causing the skin at the corner of his eyes to crinkle as he finally gave in and said, “Robert.”
Robert’s heart sped at the sexy growl in Landon’s voice. He loved when the sergeant called him Doc, but that title of doctor seemed to act as some sort of a status marker for Landon in whatever social class limitations he perceived to be between them.
“Wake me up if I sleep too long,” Landon added while turning to his side and burrowing under the blankets.
Robert wanted to crawl under those covers and make out with Landon until they both were mad with need. The thought was enticing and tempting just like the man, but in the end, Robert rolled away, pushing to his feet from the other side of his California king. They had plenty
