drained half of it. “I feel better now.”

Elliot sat down, put the plate on the coffee table, then turned and stared at me. He was freaking me out with his strange behaviour, and just as I was about to call him out on it, he leaned over and crushed his mouth again mine. Instantly, I put my arms around his neck and moaned into his mouth. I squealed against his lips when he tugged me against him. It resulted in me half-straddling him, which made him laugh.

“My boot will have to come off otherwise—”

There was a sudden rip of one of the straps as Elliot made quick work of removing my boot and letting it fall to the ground, and then he sat back on the sofa and eased me into a sitting position on top of him. It didn’t hurt my leg, but I knew if I stayed that way for long it’d go numb and later it would hurt.

“Are you surprised to see me?” I whispered against Elliot’s mouth. “You seem surprised.”

“I am.” He flicked his tongue against my lips. “I’m so happy you’re here, but Noah, ye can’t stay.”

“I am staying,” I said firmly. “I’m not leaving you again. I told you this.”

“Sweetheart.” He lifted his hands to my cheeks. “I know ye aren’t goin’ anywhere. I know.”

“Then let me stay,” I almost pleaded. “I was at Mum and Dad’s and my heart hurt for you, Elliot. I don’t want to be apart from you when I don’t have to be. Please, I’ll beg you if I have to. Don’t send me away. Please.”

He kissed me deeply before he responded.

“I want ye next to me, always,” he said, rubbing the tip of his nose against mine. “But, Noah, you’re askin’ a lot from me. I’m gonna be blunt, I wanna fuck ye into next week. Makin’ love to ye is all I can think about lately. You bein’ here will tempt me beyond measure, green eyes.”

“I want that too.” I rolled my pelvis against him, drawing a groan from his lips. “You know I want that.”

“I’m tryin’ to be a decent man by waitin’ until ye at least file for divorce.”

I didn’t want him to think about Anderson; the man had no place in my life any more. It wasn’t fair on him, but I’d chosen Elliot and that decision wasn’t changing.

“Consider me and Anderson separated, because we have been since my accident. I. Do. Not. Know. Him. I am never going to be with him, only you. You’re denying yourself the chance of having me right now by being so damn sweet. Would he do the same for you?”

“No” – the answer was a growl – “he wouldn’t.”

I gasped when Elliot suddenly stood up. My arms and legs wrapped around him. Before I had a chance to speak, he was walking out of the room and down the hallway and into the bedroom. My back hit the mattress before I could blink.

“Elliot!” I gasped. “I’m too heavy for that!”

“And yet I carried your sexy arse in here,” he said, looming over me. “How much weight have ye lost in the last four weeks?”

“A stone and a half.” I swallowed. “I’m a size fourteen now.”

“Keep this arse fat for me,” he practically snarled. “Please.”

He gripped the waistband of my leggings, and my knickers, and slowly slid them down until he could toss them over his shoulder. I worked on removing my jumper and T-shirt, but I got myself tangled up, and when I laughed, Elliot laughed too.

“See what happens when you’re too eager and don’t take your time?”

His cool fingertips brushed over my bare thigh, making me gasp.

“Boy, if you don’t get these clothes off of me and love me in five seconds flat, I’m gonna bite you!”

He removed the rest of my clothing with a few tugs and a flick of his wrist.

“That took me three seconds.” He grinned. “Still bite me though.”

“And you say I’m sinful.”

His eyes lowered to my body and he swallowed.

“Beautiful,” he said, slowly raising his eyes back to mine. “Every inch of ye is beautiful.”

I loved how his eyes roamed over me. It made me feel beautiful in a body that a few weeks ago had felt like it belonged to a stranger. As the days passed, I’d come to respect my new body and love it, because though it was different from what I remembered, it was strong. It had got me through my accident.

“Prove it.” I leaned back. “Love me.”

“I do love ye,” he said, removing his clothes, liking my eyes on him as he stripped for me. “I need to take me time with ye, Noah. It’s been so long since I’ve had ye . . . I want it to go slow but me body is screaming for me to go fast. You’re too perfect for me to hold back.”

“Sweet-talker,” I hummed. “Come here and I’ll take the edge off for you.”

He moved to stand in front of me, and I sat up on the side of the bed, facing him. I clasped my hand around his throbbing length, giving it a gentle squeeze, and Elliot’s legs seemed to buckle at the contact. He cursed, tilted his head back and groaned low in his throat before he lowered his gaze back to me. His breathing was laboured, and I had barely touched him yet. I looked up at him as I opened my mouth and placed my tongue against the head of his cock, closing my lips around him then gently suckling. Pre-cum leaked into my mouth. His eyes almost instantly rolled back and his lids shut.

“Christ,” he rasped, a hand blindly finding its way to my hair, fingers grasping the strands tightly. “Sasanach . . . I missed this mouth so fuckin’ much.”

I wanted to tease him, to have a little fun, but that could happen later . . . right now I needed to please my man.

My response was to close my mouth around the head fully and suck. Not too
