The vibration of his moaning against her as he devoured her tender flesh was almost Braylee’s undoing. Somehow, her hands managed to make their way into his hair as she writhed underneath and pressed him to her. Alex ate his fill and thrust his tongue in and out at a rhythm that caused Braylee to feel the first tremors of an orgasm. The sound of him skillfully sucking her softness while drinking her juices, made her explode.
Braylee screamed. He didn’t give her much time to recover as he positioned himself at her entrance and thrust into her. His eyes rolled into the back of his head as her tightness enveloped him. Alex gripped the rounded flesh of her ass when he began to pump faster and faster. He was quickly losing control. He rolled his hips as he continued to push as deeply as he could into the cavern of her body. She took all of him. The bed shook, the mattress creaked and the sound of him claiming her bounced off of the walls. Her nails dug into his arms as she held on and bit her bottom lip to keep from screaming. When she started to clench around him, Alex grunted and growled trying to hold on. He was close, so close to his release. Braylee let out a high pitch sound he’d never heard before as she came again. While in the final throws of her orgasm, Alex could finally let go and spilled his seed inside the woman he’d already made a promise to love for the rest of his life.
Epilogue
Six months later…
It was late, and the house was quiet. Everyone was most likely sleeping except for Braylee. The baby had been more than a little active. While she hadn’t started to show early in her pregnancy, no one could mistake the large round beach ball in the center of her stomach now. Tonight, he or she wanted to play a game of soccer. Instead of keeping Alex awake, Braylee got up. She would try to let him get some sleep while she found a little snack to eat.
She stood in front of the refrigerator with her hands supporting her back looking for something to calm her massive cravings and her nerves. Maybe, she should eat some watermelon. Since she had to use the bathroom every minute of the day, it couldn’t hurt. Big massive hands snaked around her belly. Alex pulled Braylee back into his front. He nuzzled her neck and whispered into her ear. “Hey. Hungry?”
“Starving and couldn’t sleep. What are you doing awake?”
“I felt you when you got out of bed. Thought I’d keep you company.”
She whispered into the darkness. “I was trying not to wake you up. One of us should be able to get some rest.”
“Nervous about tomorrow?”
Braylee pulled the bowl of fruit out of the refrigerator and closed it. She waddled over to the kitchen table and sat down. “If I’m honest, slightly terrified.”
Alex followed her and sat on the opposite side then plucked a piece of watermelon out of the bowl. “Do you want me to go with you?”
Braylee swatted his hands. “Thanks, but no. Somethings I’ve got to do on my own. Having breakfast with my mother, alone, without the help of therapists, I think is one of those things.”
“Your father says she’s been making a lot of progress.”
Braylee ate a chilled cube of watermelon. She spoke through chews. “Yeah, according to him, enough to be released from the facility soon. I’m proud of Daddy too. He’s like a new man in his sobriety.”
“Think those two will make it?”
Braylee shrugged. “I don’t know. I just want them to be happy. Everyone deserves to have what we do.”
“Speaking of happy, or not. I received a phone call the other day from Gina.”
“You know I really hate her right?”
“Yeah, I do. But, under the guise of full disclosure, she asked me if I would call the bulldog off of her company.”
Braylee frowned. “No chance in hell of that. I think as long as she is busy trying to stay out of prison dealing with all the RICO stuff, she won’t be causing problems for anyone else. She’s the one who wanted to be the head of Xiou Incorporated so badly.”
“Good point.” Alex snuck another piece of fruit.
She glared at his hand as it went into the bowl. “I was surprised when she was suddenly installed as head of the company shortly after we arrived back from China. She said she had a plan and just need you and Cecily out of the way for a couple more days. You don’t think…”
“That was the first thing I thought. No one has been able to find Joseph and her father all of a sudden dies of a heart attack. The morning after he died she called me.”
Braylee was sarcastic. “You too are awfully chummy.”
“You know you’re the love of my life. Anyway, I’ve only talked to her twice. That morning and a couple of days ago. When she called, she said that Cecily would never have to worry, or look over her shoulder again. So, when you asked if I thought it was all a coincidence? No. I don’t think any of it was. But, honestly, I don’t care as long as they stay away from my family.”
“Hmm, I wouldn’t be surprised.”
Alex switched the subject. “How are the wedding plans coming along?”
Braylee rolled her eyes. “Most days, I could strangle Lisa, Stephanie, and the damn dog too.”
“Whose dog?”
“I think that’s a mangled
