all. I take a few harsh breaths before I can roll off, regretfully sliding out of her. Reaching for my woman I drag her close and drape her over my chest.

Both our hearts pound in sync as we try to catch our breaths. Lying on my bed, Kadence close, and our bodies well sated and slick with sweat is a moment in life which allows me to live in the moment and realize it doesn’t get any better than this.

Hell, if it were only a fragment of what we have I would be a lucky man. But the way we fit is a match made in heaven on this fucked-up Earth.

I kiss the top of her head and regretfully murmur, “We have to get up. Visitors are about to arrive within…fuck. I have no idea. I lost track of time.”

Her giggle spreads over my slick skin and causes an electric current to slide through my body. This woman. So damn perfect and my cock twitches with interest. No way am I able to start back up where we left off but the fucker sure has the thought of doing just that. It only proves I won’t ever get enough of her.

She releases a deep breath and slides off me, pulling on my hand to tug me along. “Come on, shower time.”

Hmmm. Shower. Now that does give some options to get my hands on her body. Knocking on the front door blows that thought to shit.

“Dammit. You go ahead, doll,” I tell her and kiss the top of her head. “I’ll handle our guests so you can get ready.”

She rises up on her tiptoes to place a teasing kiss on my lips before dashing away into the bathroom. I watch as her curvy ass sways, but I am rudely ripped from my vision as the door closes and the pounding on the front door starts up again.

“I’m coming,” I bellow and reach for my jeans.

Dressing quickly, I head for the door with newfound strength inside me. I feel lighter and my head is filled with new goals and plans, breathing in life itself and it’s all because of the woman who completes me.

Alfie and Joaquin stroll inside as I head for the kitchen. “Make yourself at home, I have to get things set. Ledger and Mayven will be here soon. Garrett too.”

“I might have invited Roper and Cassidy.” Alfie grins.

“I think I heard Weston and Harlene were heading this way too,” Joaquin quips.

The door swings open and Decker and Muriel stroll inside.

“For fuck’s sake,” I grumble. “Why are y’all coming here? We should have held a damn barbeque at the clubhouse.”

Alfie snickers. “Dude, it’s not every day you open your crib to people. Besides, we know how good your steaks taste.”

Kadence strolls into the living room. There’s a beaming smile on her face and her hair is pulled into a high ponytail.

“Hey, everyone. Head into the garden and have a seat, I’ll be right out and bring refreshments in a sec,” my woman says and strolls up to me.

She takes my hand and pulls me into the kitchen. “Can you grab some of the meat? I’ll start the salad and put some bread in the oven after I’ve asked them what they would like to drink.”

I respond by taking her mouth in a kiss. “Thank you,” I murmur against her lips.

“What for?” she asks, a dazed look on her face.

“For being you,” I tell her and kiss her nose.

I head for the fridge and hear her sigh in contentment, watching her ass sway out of the kitchen the next moment. Yeah, I will fight damn hard to keep her happy and will kill anyone who threatens to take away our happiness.

Time passes where food and drinks flow in a decent matter. I don’t think I’ve had this many people visit me at the same time. But with my woman being the perfect hostess, I must say, it’s not as much as a struggle as I thought it would be.

When it’s well after eleven, the house is finally empty and it’s only me and Kadence enjoying the late evening on our back porch. The sky is lit with stars and moonlight. We’re sharing a beer and watch our horses graze next to each other.

She scoots closer and places her head on my chest. I have a crib sized swing bed we’re lounging on. I love sleeping outside at times, watching my horse in the moonlight and hearing the sounds of nature. It’s soothing. But falling asleep with my woman in my arms wrapped by the comfort of everything that enriches my life is a blessing.

Waking up by gunshots is a complete nightmare I need to wake up from. Shaking my head from the sleep, I blink to let my eyes adjust to the bright morning sun. Kadence’s hands fist my shirt as our eyes collide.

“What was that?” she whispers.

Another shot rings out and our horses gallop wild through the paddock.

“Motherfucker,” someone roars and if I’m correct it’s Alfie’s voice.

I reach for the table in front of me where I placed my two guns and a knife.

Sliding the knife into the sheath, I hand Kadence one of the guns. “Stay here.”

She checks the gun and at this moment I’m glad she has an MC background. At least they taught her to handle weapons and not lock down with fear when things go to shit.

I grab my backup gun and stride around the cabin to get to the front where the shatter of glass and gunfire is still crackling in the air. Risking a quick glance around the corner I notice Alfie hiding behind my truck.

Fucking bullet holes all over my truck, but the blood in the dirt surrounding Alfie is what worries me. Silence falls and I now
