Epilogue
I hold her chin and look into her eyes. “No, Greta. It was a fucking sensational idea. Worthy of a real hero. That’s one of the most heroic stories I have heard. And believe me, I know some stories.”
“Logan. I appreciate you saying that.”
“Mikey gave me the marker he had over your father.” I tell her. She can know this much now. “I’m putting a unit together. I will train them for Mikey. And I could use somebody to have my back. To help me out, to make sure it’s all done by the book. I’m gonna see if your daddy can’t be that.”
“Oh, Logan…”
“I’m serious, Greta. It will be a stretch for him. But if he’s the man you’ve told me he is, that stretch will be just enough to stretch him back into shape.”
All of which is true. I can’t tell her the way I plan to make it work, it would make her worry for her father. I know he can take it, though. And it will be a second chance for him. And there is no reason she should ever need to know the details.
Besides, we have plans to make, she and I. And I know she took a test this morning. I can’t wait to see the result.
Epilogue
My father really shaped up with Logan’s help. And that’s good, because we need him to be strong and a good influence as a grandfather to our two boys.
And there’s a new baby girl on the way now.
The End
~~ I hope you enjoyed Logan and Greta’s story ~~
Here’s another hot read for you:
“Angelo Franconi? That grin doesn’t look like it’s on any kind of an angel.”
He’s hot as chilli in a five-alarm fire, but he’s older… too old. And, the other little awkwardness is… he’s a mobster. Head of the notorious Franconi family.
But when Jamie’s little coffee bar runs into financial trouble, and she’s got nowhere else to turn, and he’s offering a huge injection of cash, well, what’s a girl to do?
Thing is, when Angelo gets a look at Jamie’s curves, cash is not all that the mobster wants to give her.
