no-longer-so-young Brooklyn based writer who early on found he was easily bored by the mundane world. Raised on the rich folklore of his parents’ Caribbean homeland, and genres of fantasy, sci-fi, horror and the supernatural, Djeli felt a need for more diverse tales with more diverse characters drawn from more diverse sources. To that end, he put pen to pad and fingers to keyboard, seeking to imagine, dream and create new realms to explore. A doctoral candidate in history by day, in the wee hours of night Djeli still finds time to create, and is currently working on his first YA fantasy novel. You may find his unpublished fantasy epic, The Ankh of Ausar, yet sitting in someone’s slush pile.
