‘Corsets, in my opinion, should not be worn. There is no doubt that the muscular development of the body is much more perfect when girls grow up without them. The movements of the body are so much freer. If they must be worn they should have as few bones as possible - two down the back and two down the front, and suspended from the shoulders by straps. Of course they must not be tight; you should be able to fasten them on while taking a deep breath.
