doorknob and let herself in. It took her eyes a moment to adjust to the darkness. Liam had pulled the curtains closed, and it looked like he threw a blanket over them as well to block out all light. She slowly made her way to the bed, keeping her hands out in front of her, so she didn’t bump into anything. She smiled in triumph when she felt the foot of the bed and hadn’t tripped over anything. As she worked her way up the side of the bed, her smile dropped when all she felt was bed instead of a body. The sheets were warm, so he had to of been in here recently.

“What are you doing in here, Cora?” Liam asked right behind her.

Cora gasped in shock and tried to turn and face him, but Liam grabbed her by her arms and held her still. His chest pressed against her back. Heat radiated off him. “I came to apologize.” She replied shakily. It wasn’t out of fear of him. It was out of desire. She came to his room with the intent to apologize, but with having him pressed close behind her and in the dark, it enhanced all her senses. She could hear his deep breathing behind her and feel his heat at her back. She felt cocooned in his arms. Being in the dark unable to see Liam, but only feel him and hear him was erotic.

“Is that so? For what exactly?” He asked as a hand drifted up her arm to her shoulder.

Goosebumps broke out across her arms, and Cora’s breaths turned choppy. “For being angry that you came back early and didn’t tell me.” She was having a hard time concentrating on words and not making love to him right there in the middle of the room.

“For not trusting me?” His fingers glided over the back of her neck, to the side over her pulse, which was speeding up.

“I do trust you. It’s myself I don’t trust. You kept things from me before Liam and it almost broke me. For you to keep something else just brought back old feelings.”

Liam’s fingers stopped, and Cora almost called out for him to keep going. She already missed his touch. He hadn’t touched her like this since before he left. All he had given her was a brief kiss downstairs before she ran away from him. She refused to leave him again. He was worth the fight to keep them together. “Is that how it’s always going to be between us, Cora? If I don’t tell you something, you’ll leave me?”

Cora turned around and this time Liam let her. She couldn’t see any of his features only a vague outline of his profile. “No, Liam. No more doubts. If you are keeping something from me, you have a reason. No more questioning you about it. If you’re not telling me something is because it's work related or you have a reason.”

“Just like that?” He sounded skeptical. She couldn’t fault him for that. She might as well lay all her cards on the table at this point. Not being able to see him helped her. Cora took a deep fortifying breath.

“I love you, Liam. I love you, and I trust you.” Cora waited in agony for Liam to say something. Anything. He just stood there staring at her. She at least thought he was since she couldn’t see him. Had she thought she liked being in the dark with him? She lied she hated it. She needed some indication of his feelings for her. “Say something, please.”

Liam didn’t. He reached up and cupped her face, pulling her into a toe-curling, heart-melting kiss. It in no way compared to his homecoming kiss earlier, or any kiss they had shared before this. This kiss tasted of love, passion, and promises of what was to come. He was pouring all his emotions into this kiss, and she didn’t mind at all. He may not say ‘I love you’ with words, but his kiss said it in spades.

Cora reached up and gripped Liam’s shoulders, and felt his bare skin under her hands. She had always appreciated Liam slept in the nude, and now she was even more so. She was desperate for him, and his clothes would just get in her way. Cora reached down his shoulders to his chest and down his stomach, but Liam captured her hands, and spun her back around before pinning her back to his chest. She turned her head to protest, but he leaned forward and kissed her hungrily. His hand caught her cheek and kept kissing her as his other hand released her hands, and slid down her stomach to the hem of her shirt. Cora tilted her hips silently begging Liam to touch her. She was on fire, and only he knew how to put out the flame. Liam ignored her silent plea and instead reached up under her shirt. He pushed the material up as his hand cupped her breast. Cora moaned into Liam’s mouth as their tongues mated. His tongue slid against hers back and forth mimicking sex. This man was so wicked with his tongue. Liam fondled her breast, kneading them before pushing the cup out of his way, so he could pluck her nipple. The hard nipple scraped against his calloused fingers as he tweaked and pulled at it.

Cora tore her mouth away from Liam’s, and drew air into her lungs. “Oh god, Liam.”

“Tell me again,” Liam demanded as his other hand dropped from her face and stroked her neglected nipple.

“Please, let me come, Liam.” She was so close to the edge.

“Tell me, Cora,” Liam ordered as a hand slide down her stomach and unsnapped her pants and lowered her zipper. “Tell me, and I’ll let you come.” His fingers slide back and forth at the top of the waistband of her underwear.

“I love you, God, I love you so much, Liam. I can’t live without you.” Cora panted. Liquid
