“She’s a little unsure about the change in plans,” Jamie told him. Then he turned to me. “Give it a chance, Margot. I promise, you won’t be afraid or disappointed. These guys would never hurt you and their fantasies match up with yours perfectly.
I hesitated.
“This was your idea,” Viggo reminded me gently. “You were the one complaining about how boring your life is, how even when you had sex in the past it was lame… what’s the worst thing that could happen? If you find them unattractive or scary beyond an acceptable level of nervousness, you walk away. But if you allow yourself to indulge in this, you might have the best sex of your life.”
His deep-set blue eyes were filled with sincerity and I had to remind myself that Viggo and Jamie were my friends. They’d spent countless hours at the hospital with me when my four-year-old daughter Gracie had been going through surgery after surgery after a terrible car accident. I hung out at their house. I’d babysat their kids a few times when their nanny had the flu. Even if Fantasy Night turned out to be a dud, they would never put me in a situation where I would be harmed in any way.
“I-I can still change my mind, right?” I asked slowly.
“Let’s go to my office,” Jamie said. “You’re going to be in one of the private suites later because I know you’re way too shy to do anything in the dungeon or one of the public viewing rooms. You can say no at any time during the encounter—even after it’s started.”
“Just remember,” Viggo pointed out. “If you decide not to participate tonight, you’re banned from Fantasy Night for two years because we had nearly four thousand people on the list and only take a hundred, so a lot of people lost out for you to have a spot.”
I breathed in deeply, my fingers lacing with Jamie’s nervously. “Okay. I guess I’m ready.”
“I’m going to get the guys,” Viggo said, walking in the other direction.
I was still clinging to Jamie’s hand as we walked to the hallway where the offices were.
“Relax,” he said, his dark eyes filled with understanding. “You said you trust me, and this is my job. There’s a reason I’m part owner of a sex club. I know women, especially their sexual needs, and I know exactly what you need. What I have planned for you is going to blow your mind.”
“I don’t even know what I need,” I muttered.
“I know.” He chuckled as we stepped inside.
“You promise they’re hot?” I demanded as he closed the door. “Because if I’m not attracted to them…”
“You think I’d pick two guys to fulfill your threesome fantasy that weren’t hot?” he demanded playfully. “I might be offended.”
I couldn’t help but chuckle. “No, I guess not.”
“Just remember to breathe,” he said.
I tried to stay calm but I was having serious second thoughts. This was so out of character for me. I’d only slept with a handful of guys and I’d never done anything like this. Fantasies were dumb and I wasn’t the type of girl who had them. This had been a terrible idea.
Crap, I couldn’t do this.
“Jamie, I don’t think I—” I broke off as the door opened and a guy I’d never seen before came in. He was older than me, probably more than a decade as I put him at about forty and I was only twenty-five, but he was definitely good-looking. He had a full head of wavy light brown hair that was probably in need of a cut, nice features, and a great body from what I could see. He wore black slacks that narrowed to a tapered waist and hips, and a black dress shirt which had several buttons open at his throat that showed off broad shoulders.
“Hey, Josh.” Jamie grabbed my hand again, pulling me forward. “This is Margot. Margot, this is my friend Josh LeBlanc. He’s from Ottawa and came to town specifically for tonight.”
Josh held out his hand. “Hi, Margot.”
“H-hi.” I looked up at him, mindlessly shaking his hand, unable to think of anything else to say. He had long-lashed hazel eyes and a great smile surrounded by well-shaped lips. I was pretty sure I could kiss him.
Right?
“Josh is gay,” Jamie continued quietly. “He’s been fantasizing about being with a woman because he never has, which is why he’s here.”
“Never?” I asked before I could stop myself.
Josh shook his head. “I mean, I kissed a few girls as a teen and such, while I was figuring out who I was, but I’ve never made love with a woman.”
“Oh.” I didn’t know what to say.
The door opened again and Viggo stepped inside, a faint smile on his face as he met my gaze. For some reason my stomach squeezed painfully as I waited to see who the other man in my threesome was going to be.
Then my mouth fell open.
Tore Brekken?!
No fucking way.
I shook my head the moment I realized who it was.
The professional hockey player of my dreams.
The man I’d been in love with for months.
The same man I’d shot down and friend zoned after he’d kissed me two months ago.
Nope. This wasn’t happening.
“There’s been a terrible misunderstanding…” I barely got the words out before rushing past all of them and back into the hallway.
