“Syrup, whipped cream, and marmalade?”
“Please, Daddy.”
As if I would ever deny him anything. Sex toys or food. My Boy would get everything he wanted. “Ok. But you need to eat your eggs and the fruit salad.”
“Promise.”
“Good Boy.” I kissed his nose and went back to the counter to finish his waffle. Henry giggled behind me. Curious about what had him laughing, I looked back at him. When he caught me looking, he started to laugh out loud.
“What’s so funny?”
“I just figured out something important.”
“Yeah? What?”
More giggling accompanied his signing. “You are such a soft Daddy.”
Oh great. It only took him two days to figure that out. “I’m doomed, aren’t I?”
“I promise I won’t tell anyone. It’s our little secret.”
Yeah sure. Until the other Littles interrogate him about our relationship. The Daddies weren’t that naïve. We knew Littles talked about their Daddies. Only last week, Darrell and Jakob said that they wanted to know what Sam and Josh were giggling about all the time. Back then, I had laughed. Now I had a Little myself, and it was only a matter of time until he joined in with the disaster duo.
“Daddy?”
“Sorry, Baby. I was just thinking about Littles and how much they gossip about their Daddies”.
Henry frowned. “But. I don’t know any other Littles.”
“That’s not true. You know Sam and Josh. And they like you. I wouldn’t be surprised if you get an invitation for a playdate or a sleepover soon.”
“A sleepover?” Henry’s eyes grew wide, and for a moment, the look of wonder was all over his face. “They have sleepovers?”
This time I chuckled. “Yes, the famous disaster duo PJ party.”
“The…what?”
“That’s what Darrell and Jakob call it when they have a sleepover.”
“Disaster duo PJ party?”
“Yes. If you get to know Sam and Josh better, you’ll see what it means.” I winked at him, and Henry giggled. “I’m just not sure if I want you to be a part of a troublesome trio.”
“I’m not trouble.”
“We’ll see.”
Again, I winked at Henry, who huffed but chuckled. The idea of having some troublesome friends seemed to appeal to him. I should call Darrell and Jakob to see if their Boys were up for a sleepover. Yeah, who was I kidding? They’d probably want to come over tonight. But I had other plans for our weekend, and it involved private time with just the two of us. I finished his plate and brought both our breakfast over to him. Henry looked up expectantly, and his smile widened when he saw the waffle.
“There you go, Cupcake.”
“Thank you, Daddy. It looks so yummy.”
“Then, make sure that you eat all of it.”
Half an hour later, his plate was empty, his face smeared with marmalade. When he leaned back and patted his tummy, I chuckled at him.
“That was soooo good. Can we have that tomorrow again?”
“Another special breakfast?”
“Yes, please.” Henry nodded, then a wicked grin showed up. “After another special change, of course.”
“Of course.”
I got up from my chair to get something to clean his face when the doorbell rang. He had the same system my sister had. There was no sound, but the lights flashed above the elevator door. Quickly I grabbed a dishtowel, wet it, and went back to Henry, who looked confused.
“Let me clean your face, and then you can see who it is. Are you expecting someone?”
“No.”
I quickly cleaned his chin and his cheeks and stepped back so he could get up. I threw the towel on the table and signed, instead of talking, because Henry was barely looking at me.
“Do you want me to come with you?”
“Would you mind?”
“No, of course not.”
“Thank you.” Henry slipped off the stool and took my hand. He turned, but I held him back.
“I’ll always be there when you need me, Henry.”
“Because you’re my Daddy.”
“Yes. And because I really like you and care about you.” That earned me another of his cute smiles, and the concerned expression left his face for a moment. Then the doorbell rang again, and the frown was back. “Come on, let’s see who that is.”
Henry nodded and led me into the short hallway. Henry pressed a button on a security monitor mounted to the wall next to the door. The screen lit up and showed a man casually dressed. After a second or two, he raised a hand and waved. Henry pressed another button, and I could see the man entering the building. I tapped Henry on the shoulder to make him turn and look at me.
“Do you know him?”
Henry swallowed and nodded slowly. “I…I need to speak to him.”
“I’m going to clean up the kitchen, while you talk, okay?”
“I’m sorry. I…had no idea that he would be coming over.”
I smiled at him. “Hey, that happens. Don’t worry about it.” Gently, I kissed him but pulled back when the doors to the elevator slipped open.
The man who stepped out of it was probably in his early fifties, with light brown and gray hair. He wore jeans and a sweatshirt. Even if there wasn’t the telltale bulge from a hidden weapon at his hip, I knew that he was a cop. It was all over the way he held himself and checked me out. I’d worked with enough cops to recognize one when I saw him. He opened his mouth to introduce himself, but Henry beat him to it.
“Th-That’s Ian. He’s an a-a friend.”
“Caden Evans. It’s a pleasure to meet you.” I held out my hand, and Ian shook it with a firm grasp.
“Ian. Nice to meet you, too.” Then he turned to Henry and grinned. “So, you finally got yourself a man, huh?”
Henry blushed a lovely shade of pink but nodded. “Yes. I think I did.”
“I’m his boyfriend,” I said after I made sure that Henry could see what I was saying. He blushed even more but smiled at me.
Then his gaze flew over to Ian right in time to see him say, “I’m happy for you, Henry. And I’m sorry to disturb you on Saturday morning, but I need to
