and repacking. Never being in the same place for very long.”

Liam turned and stared at his brother. “So you want to come back here?”

Tucker shot him a look. “You came back here, didn’t you? And things turned out all right.”

“Well, yeah, but Mina’s been here all along.” Liam narrowed his eyes at Tucker. “Are you thinking about somebody in particular?”

Tucker gave a shrug that was meant to be casual. Behind Tucker’s head, Cade stifled a laugh. “No, nobody in particular,” Tucker said. He became very interested in adjusting his cufflinks, then scanned the crowd, lips pursed. “Either of you heard from Avery in a while?”

“Sure have,” said Cade. “She’s got a kid now.”

Liam didn’t miss the way Tucker’s shoulders dropped, but his brother quickly straightened up. “Good for her.”

“Listen, Tuck.” Liam put his hand on Tucker’s shoulder. “Anything else you want to discuss? Because I’m about to get married. The reverend will be here any second. If we need to postpone this so you can get something off your chest—”

“I think I do,” Tucker said solemnly. “Ask him if we can push it back an hour or two. I just wanted to talk about—”

Liam patted him harder, moving him back and forth an inch at a time. He kept it brotherly for the photographer, who clicked away in the back of the church, documenting every moment. “You’re my favorite brother, you know that? I love your sense of humor. And the way you’re the center of every event.”

“Wow,” said Cade. “Such a great revelation to have while we’re both standing up here with you at your very own wedding.” He looked ready to make another joke, but at that moment, the reverend stepped up behind them.

The old man had married Cade and Becca as well, and he nodded his approval at the three brothers standing together at the front of the church. “It’s time to take your places.”

An overwhelming sense of purpose filled Liam from the top of his head to the tips of his toes. His life was finally starting. All the things he’d done—they’d brought him here, to this day with Mina. He took a deep breath that tasted like pure sunlight. Mrs. Howard, the church pianist, put her hands above the keys and gave him a nod. Her music reached every inch of the church and folded back on Liam like a symphony. They’d gone with Ave Maria.

Lucky was first down the aisle, wearing a pillow on his back that held the ring boxes. Joey led him carefully in a dress meant to match Becca’s—all in sky blue. When Joey reached the front of the church, she knelt down next to Lucky, a bright smile on her face.

Next came Becca, who cradled baby Weston in her arms. He wore a tiny onesie and a pair of pants in matching blue, and slept peacefully in his aunt’s arms. The entire church gasped and cooed as Becca came down the aisle. That’s my son, thought Liam. My perfect, wonderful son.

The music slowed and changed, shifting into the bridal march, and the doors at the far end of the aisle opened wide. Mina stood in a sunbeam, holding a bouquet in her hands and looking straight at him.

The rest of the world fell away. All Liam could see was her smile, and then, after a moment so suffused with love he thought it might take him out at the knees, he registered the rest of her dress. It was a long, silky creation that floated above the floor like a cloud brought to earth. She’d made it herself, and she’d been particularly proud of the pockets. That pride shone in her face. Lace sleeves let him peek at her skin beneath. The urge to run down the aisle, take her in his arms, and sprint to the nearest hotel seized him with both hands.

The moment broke as Mina took her first step down the aisle. All the guests rose to their feet for the bride. This moment—it would be seared into his memory for the rest of his life. How gorgeous she looked. How happy. How radiantly, fully his.
