A second later, I heard footsteps clomping toward the door, and Declan called out, “We’re a little busy, Alpha. I have two fingers deep in Teagan’s pussy, so if this can wait.”
I was too far gone to do anything but gasp as my pleasure built.
Declan leaned over me and kissed me as I moaned. “I can feel that you’re moments from coming, Teagan, but I probably should warn you that Jasper might just walk in unless you tell him not to. He won’t listen to me. Do you want me to stop so you can tell him?”
“Please, don’t stop…” I gasped. The last thing I wanted in the world was for Declan to stop. I was so close to the edge.
Jasper threw open the door and stormed in.
I called over, “Jasper—I...”
Jasper’s expression was thunderous, and shock hit me hard and fast. Was he mad that Declan and I were hooking up on his bed? I knew we should stop, but it was far too late as a wave of pleasure crashed over me, and the world fell away as my core quivered in orgasm. I gasped and moaned as Declan’s hand continued to pump into me.
When the world came into focus, Jasper was sitting down beside me on the bed, running his hands over his hair.
My whole body felt liquid as aftershocks of pleasure surged through me. Declan pulled his fingers out and cupped his hand around my mound, possessively.
“Are you mad, Jasper?” I asked as I tried to catch my breath. “I don’t know the rules.”
“You don’t have any rules, Teagan. I’m furious with myself. I fucked up,” he growled as he rubbed his hands through his dark hair. “Somehow, Grayhaven allowed this werewolf to walk right in. I picked up what might have been a trail early this morning, but he’s careful to cover his tracks, and the magic was masking his scent.” Jasper gripped his hands together and gritted out. “This one is on me, and if you’ll trust me to protect you, nothing like today will ever happen again.”
I wiggled my arm out from around Declan, and I ran my fingers over Jasper’s back. “It’s not your fault… or Chad or Ace’s fault, either.”
“No one is buying that it’s not Chad’s fault, the man was diddling himself when he was supposed to be watching your back,” Declan muttered into my shoulder. “But you couldn’t have waited, I don’t know, twenty minutes to talk to us about it, Jasper?”
Jasper looked between us with his gaze narrowing. “Are you saying that I shouldn’t have come in?”
The alpha asked it like he wasn’t sure of the rules himself, but in a bigger way. It was as if he thought that it was perfectly natural to walk in while Declan was bringing me to orgasm, and Jasper was surprised to learn that wasn’t typical behavior. Jasper tilted his head and his piercing blue eyes met mine. “Privacy is sometimes a hard concept for me to understand, Teagan, if I’m invading yours, you’re going to have to tell me.”
I melted back into the bed. “The only reason it bothered me is that I thought you were mad at us.”
“I’m furious and terrified, and that’s why I didn’t want to wait any longer to see you, but neither feeling is directed at you. There’s a werewolf in my territory that almost abducted you while the wolves I assigned to protect you were disobeying my orders.” Jasper ran his hand over his hair once more.
“That werewolf is named Oliver Hunt, and he’s on the run for his life too, and that’s because of me. I did that to him—and I don’t feel guilty for the choices I made, but I know that he wants to kill me, and he feels justified in it.”
Jasper kicked off his boots and laid back on the bed beside me, pillowing his head on his hands. “You want to tell me what’s going on?”
No. I didn’t. Having Declan lying on me like a three-hundred-pound weighted blanket was doing a lot to relieve my stress, and reliving that day was something I had never wanted to do again. But, if they were going to protect me from Oliver, they deserved the truth, every last piece of it.
Chapter Fifteen
Thinking back to the day I escaped from my old pack all felt like a bad dream now. Leaving my captivity with Kane had been like jumping out of the proverbial frying pan into the fire. The entire day might have felt like a nightmare, but I could recall it in perfect detail.
“Oliver is the one who arranged my last escape from Kane, but he didn’t do it for free.” Just thinking about it made my hair stand on end.
“You don’t have to tell me,” Jasper said, and he reached out and grabbed the comforter that had slipped down from around Declan and me.
“No, I should tell you guys. Thank you for squishing me Declan, but I should probably move.” I tapped Declan’s arm.
“I will lie on you anytime you want, Cherry.” The big guy rolled enough so I could tug Declan’s flannel down to cover my lady bits, but I still felt vulnerable. Even though it made me feel a little pitiful, I rolled on my side and burrowed back into Declan who immediately wrapped a massive hand around my hip.
“Oliver Hunt was the third-ranked dominant wolf in my old pack,” I said. “I knew he wanted me for himself. Dominating me was becoming an obsession for him, and instead of discouraging it, I thought maybe I could use his infatuation to escape.”
“Smart,” Declan said.
“No.” I swallowed hard. “It wasn’t smart, but it worked to get me away from Kane. Kane trusted Oliver, so he let us just drive off together. Oliver got us
