body robbed him of every ounce of self-control.

A loud moan preceded the sound of her calling out his name as her fingernails dug into his shoulder and she gripped his hand. Her legs seized around his waist as her muscles contracted, clinging to him like a rock climber clutching a lifeline. The burning fire of explosive energy spiraled in the pit of his stomach, jolting and jerking at him like a bull sparring to enter the action during a rodeo. “I’m coming.” Her sweet voice hung in his ears.

He moved his hips in a circular motion, throwing his cock deep as he grunted and groaned, tensing his abdominals. He drew back, pulling out as he climaxed. The white, sticky proof of his ecstasy spurted over her stomach. A murky haze separated him from his sense, and only one thought remained in his brain. “I love you.”

Realizing what he had said, his eyes shot open as insecurity and fear nearly robbed him of the joy he’d been feeling. His gaze met hers as her lips curved upward. Her eyes widened, her intense grip on his hand never wavering. “Love you too.”

He breathed a sigh of relief before crashing down next to her, panting. He held her close, not wanting to unlink their bodies, but she insisted he let her go freshen up. Ten minutes later, she exited the bathroom looking clean, crisp, and renewed. A quick showering of her nude form had left a thin mist over her skin, shining in the small amount of light from a nearby lamp. As she returned to bed, he held back the covers for her. She climbed up next to him beneath the cool linens, and he swaddled her in his arms before pecking her cheek and then her shoulder. He relaxed, listening to her breathe until drifting into a deep sleep.

Chapter Twelve

The strawberries were juicy and sweet against Mary Allison’s tongue, making her glad she had gotten a whole bunch when she went through the breakfast bar. A bagel with cream cheese and a cup of coffee rounded out her early morning meal as she sat across from her best friend. Donnie, who was uncharacteristically calm and quiet, spooned a mouthful from his second bowl of Lucky Charms.

“I told you everything. Are you going to spill, slut?” She tapped his foot with hers under the table.

He lifted his eyes, and she gasped at his cute expression, averted gaze, and rosy cheeks. “It was fun.”

Her jaw hanging, her lips parted about half an inch. “Get out…Oh my God. You like him!”

“Shut up, bitch.” His low tone made it difficult to hear him.

She shook her head, beside herself with happiness to finally see him affected by a lover. “You want an instant replay.”

“I said shut up, hooker.” He stared at his cereal as if he were too embarrassed to look her in the face.

“You’re going to drop your scorched earth policy and become a repeat offender!” She performed a tiny dance while remaining seated, grinning so hard her cheeks hurt.

“Okay. Okay. Okay! I admit it. It was fab-u-fucking-lous!” Donnie’s expression made him look as if he had sat on a light bulb.

She rubbed her hands together. “I have a serious question.” He widened his eyes and looked at her expectantly until she cleared her throat. “Who’s the top?”

He placed his palm on his chest and looked to the heavens before picking up his napkin and fanning himself. “Girl! He’s versatile! Can you believe it? He likes both!”

“Yummy, so you topped?” She clasped her hands together, leaning forward as she waited for the answer with bated breath.

“Yep, in the boy’s locker room, I did. I was all ready to bottom until he turned around and presented.” Donnie’s eyes bulged and he snickered.

“Shit! Were you nervous? It’s been a long time!”

“Maybe a little but it’s not as if it’s something you can forget how to do. I tore dat ass up too if I do say so myself.” He shook his hair, a conceited smirk curving his lips.

She set off on a tether of laughter. “And then?”

“We went to his room and switched up, and it was Gone-with-the-Wind-fabulous!”

“Wow! I haven’t seen you this into a guy in well, ever.” She shook her head and laughed. “What gives?”

He ran a palm through his hair while wringing his napkin with his free hand. “I always sort of liked him. But the crazy thing is he always liked me too.”

Mary Allison lifted an eyebrow, thinking his comment was a lot more along the lines of obvious than crazy, but she didn’t say as much. With hindsight being twenty-twenty, she guessed she never suspected Redmond of being gay in high school either. “Why didn’t he ever say anything?”

He shrugged. “You know how it is. He wasn’t ready…too scared of what he was feeling and hadn’t admitted his sexual preference to himself yet.”

“How does this work with two men? Do you have to tell him you’ve spent the past ten years sucking every cock you could get your lips around?” Mary Allison sounded flippant but was actually worried.

“Little bitch, sit right still, and let me slap you.” He tapped his index finger against the table. “To be honest, I don’t know. I get the impression Redmond has been playing and searching aimlessly too. We agreed to be exclusive for a minute and see where things go.”

Mary Allison sputtered, nearly dribbling coffee on her shirt. “Exclusive? Can you even do that?”

Donnie made a sound of annoyance and poked his lips out. “I hope so.”

“Me too! I’m so happy for you, boo!” She bounded up from her seat, rushing her friend and throwing her arms around him. Returning the sentiment, he hugged her.

“I’m happy for you too, boo. Your man looks damn good in my clothes.” He lifted his chin and she
