awkwardly at the entrance.

I cleared my throat.

"Where is everybody? I mean, isn't this supposed to be crowded?" I asked him, still not looking at him.

"They closed early today." He answered.

"What? So we can't use the rides?" I looked at him, and was taken aback when I realized he took off his coat. He was wearing a baby pink long sleeves, that looked so good on him.

He shook his head.

I gave him a 'what?' look and he smiled.

"We can use them. My parents own the place, and they closed early to let us use the rides," he smiled.

"Really? Wow," I said again, like a little child.

"The kids at the party were here the whole day, before they went to party. So we can use the

place freely," his eyes were filled with excitement now, like a little child.

I blinked, trying to digest what was happening. Before I could ask again, he pulled me toward a

ride and before I knew it, I was locked on the roller coaster seat.

~

The place was so big that we didn't even bumped into Kristine and Jonathan. Maybe she was

having a great time with him.

Anthony and I sat on a bench, laughing our hearts out after going into the horror house twice.

We were making fun of the ghosts inside.

While still catching my breath, I found myself staring at the ferris wheel.

"You want to try that?" He asked.

"No, I'm afraid of----" he pulled my hand and started running toward it. "Heights!" I panted.

~

Just like I expected, the ferris wheel wasn't exactly my ride. But it was worth it. Anthony was so

fun to be with.

We sat on the ferris wheel cab until after the ride. That's the privilege you get when you're with

the only son of the owner.

Anthony let the operator rest already, since we had no intention of doing the ride again. He

looked so concerned when looked like I was going to vomit after.

"So, you're an only child too?" Anthony asked me as we were enjoying the cool evening breeze.

"Yea," I nodded. Usually, I feel uneasy when other people ask me personal questions. But

Anthony made me comfortable.

"Where're your parents now? Still in England?" he asked further.

I explained about them, but left out the part why Dad died.

"Sorry to hear that. I shouldn't have asked," he apologized.

"No, it's okay," I assured him.

Just then the ferris wheel suddenly jolted, moving us higher.

"What's happening?" I rattled, holding on to the seat.

"The operator probably forgot to tighten the lock," he said, and he looked down.

Just then, the ferris wheel suddenly stopped, landing us on the top of the wheel. I froze.

"You okay Drei?" He looked concerned again.

"Yea." I swallowed. "I'll get used to it." I said, closing my eyes.

"I'll sit beside you, okay? Just bare with the slight movement." He moved toward me with the least movement possible. I still closed my eyes, unable to stare at the surroundings.

"There. Done," he said, his voice very close to me now. I opened my eyes and turned to where I assumed he sat and he smiled at me. Shoot me. He looks so good up close. Very up close.

"How do you feel?" he asked again.

Melting! I shouted in my mind. "A bit dizzy. It'll go away," I smiled faintly.

"I'll call Kristine so she can ask the operator to let us down," he tapped on his pockets and suddenly panicked.

"Why?"

"I left my phone in my coat," he sighed.

"Mine's with Kristine," I told him with a nervous sigh.

"No one can see us from up here," he said.

"Why don't we call out, maybe somebody can hear us---" then the lights went out. Only the posts were lit.

We exchanged worried looks.

Chapter 5

We sat awkwardly in the ferris wheel cab, the only light illuminating was from the post.

I couldn't think of anything that would help our situation.

Anthony cleared his throat, as he shifted in his seat beside me.

"The people here usually leave by now. I think they're gone, with the blackout," Anthony

sounded sorry.

"I hope Kristine and Jonathan are okay," I replied.

My eyes have already adjusted to the dim, and I could now make out the details of the empty

seat in front of us.

Anthony glanced at his watch. "If we're really stuck here, it won't be that long too. The Park usually opens by 8am," he said with an assuring tone.

I nodded, not sure if he noticed it in the darkness.

I yawned just to have something to do.

"You could lean on my shoulder Drei, if you want to sleep," he offered. I was shocked. We were friends, but not that touchy though.

I hesitated before answering. "I'm alright Anthony. I could use the seat," I stood up, causing the cab to shake uncontrollably.

He caught my arm and assisted me as I took the seat in front of him. "Sorry if that made you

uncomfortable."

We were silent for the next few moments.

I was beginning to doze off when I felt the cab move again.

"Ooops, sorry that woke you up," he apoogized as he put his long-sleeved polo on me.

"No Anthony, you'd get cold if you give this to me," I straightened up in my seat, and I saw that he was wearing a fit muscle sleeved undershirt. He looked so hot.

I pushed the thought away and tried to get back to the present.

"So will you Drei," I saw the sincerity in his eyes.

I thought for a moment and got up, returning to his side again.

I sat beside him closer than I was a while ago, but I was careful not to brush his arm. I was still fighting off that attraction to him.

"We could share," I said as I put the polo over us.

I looked at him and he smiled at me. Shoot me. I'm gonna die.

I looked away, then leaned my head against the seat.

I didn't remember when I fell asleep, but when I felt my arm numb from the position I was in, I

found him leaning against my shoulder. He looked like he was in deep sleep.

I was fighting the thought of watching him sleep, but I lost. I shifted in
