"John, no Mr." He says, giving me a triumphant smile, as if he knew I wouldn't be able to resist him. "And your name?" He asks, wasting no time as he shuffles me to a seat back at the bar.
"Its Lili," I say as the barista hands me my water along with a shot of tequila with a lime. Wasting no time I grab the shot and throw it back letting the burn sear me as it warms my throat, chasing it with the sour of the lime. Daring a glance in Nicoli’s direction, he is watching me with a dangerous gaze. I suck on the lime for a moment before dropping it into the glass, licking the remnants of its sour juices off my lip. His nostrils flare as his silver eyes darken slightly.
"You are absolutely stunning Lili. Has anyone told you that?" My attention is reluctantly pulled back to John as he speaks.
Other than Gianna? No, but he doesn't need to know that. Putting on a show, I laugh as I lean forward a little, pulling a page out of Gianna's book on flirting. Laying a hand on his arm, he has a clear view of the top of my breasts. His eyes zero in on my chest, causing me to roll my eyes. “Oh stop it you're making me blush." His grin widens, clearly taking my flirting as motivation to inch towards my face.
"I wonder what else I could do to make you blush." He breathes as he brings his head closer to me. I feel his moist breath tickling my neck as I tilt my head to the side allowing him better access. Just as his lips give the faintest brush to my skin, he is ripped back by his neck. His eyes widen as he is roughly thrown back from his chair, landing on the ground with an audible thud.
"Dude what the FUCK!" He exclaims to his assailant. Nicoli has his hard eyes pinned on mine and man is he pissed. Like capital P.I.S.S.E.D pissed. His eyes are almost shining a molten silver with clouds of black rolling over them. He ignores the man on the floor as he grabs my arm.
"We are leaving. Now!" He jerks me off my chair.
"Dude I asked what the fuck your problem was, could you not see we were talking." John comes up behind Nicoli. Finally, he turns his gaze on the poor man who quickly takes a step or two back. I feel slightly guilty at having involved him in my games. Resentment and fury pour off of Nicoli as his muscles tense underneath his suit.
"If I were you I would walk away and go home. I am in no mood to be patronized right now and as much as I would love to pull my gun out and shoot you in the fucking head for touching her at all, I don’t want to cause a scene." Eyes wide and clearly feeling the rage rolling off him in waves, John picks up on the danger, wasting no time as he scurries off down the beach. Watching him retreat I don’t miss seeing another larger man in a suit grab hold of him as he dragged him back past my view. My eyes grow wide as I worry about what might happen to him. Terror settled in the pit forming in my stomach as I am left to deal with the consequences of my actions.
"Don’t kill him.” I look up to him and say.
“He touched something that belongs to me. I warned you I am not a man to trifle with.”
“He had no idea. It was my fault, punish me instead, please don’t kill him because of me.” He looks as if he is considering my plea.
"We are leaving now?" He asks, raising an eyebrow. His question is more asking if I will go willingly than my permission for us to leave. Nodding in agreement, he lifts his phone to his ear. A moment later someone must have answered as he begins to talk. "Daveon, I don't want you to kill him." He pauses listening to the man on the other end. "No need, but I do want you to teach him a lesson. Do what you see fitting but I want him alive when you're done." Hanging up he slides the phone in his pocket.
"I thought you weren't gonna hurt him?"
"You asked me not to kill him." He shrugs at me like we are not talking about someone's life. "He may walk away with some cuts and bruises. A broken bone or two but he will very much be alive. You belong to me and I won’t allow him to go unscathed at having touched you. Let this serve as a reminder to you not to cross me in such a way again." Putting his hand on the small of my back he pushed me forward. "Next time you ask something of me you should be more specific. I would think you would be grateful at my generous mercy on him."
Walking back down the beach he catches a man eyeing me as we pass, a low growl reverberates from his throat. He rips off his jacket throwing it over my back covering my body. It drowns me in size covering past my ass down to my thighs. He leads me to a set of blacked out SUVs parked next to the curb on the road. He opens the door not asking me to climb inside as he picks me up and deposits me onto the seat. Thinking he will be climbing inside as well I wait, only to have the door slammed in my face.
“Take her home, Loui.” He taps on the window as we drive off.
Are you freaking kidding me? I huff and fold my arms angrily across my chest as I fall back
