Red: Girl, that sounds like a plan! You don’t need any luck, you have those guys wrapped around your pinky. Ha ha. Love ya bitch!
She makes me chuckle to myself, always brightening my mood. Now onto the shit show that’s about to be in the group chat.
Roman: What the fuck Luna, you’re joking right?
Roman: Luna, I swear to god answer the phone.
Oscar: Baby girl you’re crazy. Where are you?
Parker: I’m not happy you’ve gone alone Luna, please answer.
Roman: I’m close to having Kai track your mobile, don’t make me!
Kai: Sakura, please just let us know you are okay.
Oscar: Baby girl…
Parker: I’m worried guys, it’s been nearly three hours.
Roman: I’m speaking to West, he’s obviously the one to give her an off-campus pass.
Oscar: Get us off-campus passes, she shouldn’t be alone.
Kai: Luna is a grown woman, but I agree, I am worried.
Parker: Roman? Any luck?
Roman: He’s a dick. Says she needs to do this alone. Give it twenty minutes then I’m leaving here. Fuck the consequences.
Oscar: Me too.
Parker: Where are DCM Tech based?
Kai: Washington
Oscar: At least we know where we’re headed.
Fuck these guys are crazy. I’d like to send a quick text so I can eat and sleep, but I know that won’t be enough. I make quick work of ordering some food to be sent up and call the group chat, putting it on loudspeaker and stepping back from the table.
It barely rings once when Roman’s voice comes through the line
“What the actual fuck Luna? Do you know how worried I’ve been? We’ve been? You can’t just fucking do this,” he growls.
He’s mad, but he needs to learn I’m my own person and I got by just fine in life before I agreed to this, whatever this is with them.
“Are you done?” I ask.
“Done? Fucking done? You don’t even have a clue do you?”
“I get concern Roman. I get you guys not liking that I’m off doing this by myself, but the second you start shouting at me like I’m a child is the same moment you get cut off. Now you’re either going to show me some fucking respect when you talk to me or this conversation is done, what’ll it be?” I growl.
I’m probably acting overly defensive, but I am who I am, tough shit.
I’m met with silence, looking at the screen I can see the other guys names are also showing as in the call, but no one says anything.
“He’s done Luna, please don’t end the call,” Parker quietly calls through the phone.
“Hey babe,” I respond, like I’m a completely different person, all soft and full of joy.
He brings it out of me, has me calling him nicknames, and well, he wasn’t an acehole just now.
“Hey angel, are you okay? I’m worried about you,” Parker responds.
It’s as if he knows he needs to do the complete opposite of what Roman just did to make this work better and it makes me smile.
“I’m okay, just at the hotel, waiting on some food. Then I need to set up my cameras outside the building and take a nap, I just haven’t decided what order to do those in yet. Are you okay?”
“I’m better now I’ve heard your voice, but I’d be far better if you weren’t alone.”
“I know Parker, but this isn’t about you guys. This is my assignment. An assignment almost identical to jobs I’ve done before. I’m not out here trying to prove myself to people who don’t deserve that level of effort from me. I’m out here fully aware of myself and my skills. I’ll be back tomorrow night,” I offer, like I should even need to pacify them.
“It is about us Princess. We care about you and you aren’t letting us do that,” growls Roman, clearly still not able to control his frustration.
“Shut up Roman,” calls Kai, which makes me silently chuckle.
Someone using Roman’s classic line back on him. It should have been Oscar who said it for a complete role reversal.
“Sakura, are you sure you can’t make room for just one of us?” Kai asks, I don’t respond for a moment trying to figure out what’s for the best.
“Please baby girl, compromise with us. Just one of us, whoever comes won’t be in the way just there to keep us from going any crazier,” Oscar begs, finally joining the conversation.
Compromise? Is that what this is? I’m still not used to thinking of others. When it was Tommy, I never took him into consideration not once. Now I’m having to think about four others, like that’s completely normal.
This is different though. It feels different. I’m different, and I want to make this work. Especially after Saturday night. Not the sex, although that was phenomenal, but after all of that. Both mattresses pushed together on the floor in the lounge with the sofas behind us. Curled up and relaxed in each other’s company, I felt like I belonged there in that moment with these guys. That’s what I wanted more of.
“Okay, I’ll compromise. Just one, don’t push me. I swear if any more of you show up, be prepared for a shit show. I’m at the Four Seasons, don’t park at the hotel. Royal Suite, second floor room 200. Decide amongst yourselves who’s coming, my food’s here and I deserve a fucking nap after being ganged up on.”
I put the phone down. I don’t think that was too harsh, I wanted to be harsher, but I compromised as much as I could bring myself to do.
God give me strength to deal with four bossy assholes.
I’m gonna need it.
(Roman)
For fucks sake, how do I convince these guys to let me be the one to go? Selfish, I know but I don’t care.
“I feel like we just achieved a huge milestone convincing her to compromise, so we can’t mess this up. Well done Oscar, for a change your mouth didn’t make the situation
