sure. I think something is wrong with Alexia.” I say and start pacing the room.

“Logan...”

I hear her as clear as I would if she were stood right next to me. I stop pacing immediately.

“I just heard her. She called for me.” I say sounding as confused as I am.

“That’s not possible. You haven’t fully mated. You haven’t even marked her.” Dom says with a curious look on his face. A growl rips from my chest.

“I don’t care. I heard her. She needs me. Somethings wrong.” I turn towards the door not listening to what anyone is saying. I know what I heard. My father stops me and turns me so I am looking him straight in the eyes.

“Concentrate on the bond between you. However small it is. Keep trying to reach her. If she can’t tell you where she is. Just let your wolf instincts guide you. You will find her. Go.” I nod my head leave straight away. I hear him through the pack link as he instructs Dom and another wolf to follow me. He sends his beta to track us in his truck in case we need to get Alexia to the pack doctor quick and he gets the doc on stand by. He knows exactly what to do and he instructs them all to do it...

Protect the future Luna of our pack. It spurs me on even more to find and reach her.

“Alexia I’m coming.” I keep saying through our bond. Fully mated wolves have the ability to communicate with each other using just their minds. But that’s two wolves that have completed the mate process. I haven’t even marked Alexia, and she isn’t even a wolf. She is human. It shouldn’t be possible. But I know with absolute certainty that I heard her. I need to find her. She's in trouble.

I don’t hear her again but I pick up her scent, and rush toward her. I know that Dom and Derek, another member from my pack are at my side. The smell of petrol hits my nose and pushes me to go even faster not bothering to check if the others are keeping up with me. They will.

I see the truck that she doesn’t usually drive on its side and I can see Alexia through the smashed front screen. I quickly shift back into human without ever stopping. My nudity hasn’t even entered my thoughts. I just need to get to her.

“Logan” I hear her once more and then I see her head drop. As I reach the car Dom and Derek have shifted to help get her out of the car. I rip the passenger door off and slide into the cab. I take her unconscious form in my arms before tearing her seat belt off her. Derek and Dom have pulled the front screen from the truck and Dom bends to take Alexia from me so we can release her legs which are trapped under the steering column.

He receives a warning growl from me. I have no intention of letting another male touch her. Dom instantly holds his hands up in surrender and crouches lower in submission.

“Steady Logan, I’m just trying to help. We need to get her out before this thing lights up.” I pull her closer to me and motion to her legs. Together they manage to free her and I step out of the truck. She is still unconscious but I can feel and hear the steady beat of her heart. She’s alive.

The two men on either side of me shift back into fur, and together we run back towards the main road where the beta is waiting for us in the van.

I look down to my beautiful mate in my arms and try to look for a sign of any other obvious injury.

“I’ve got you baby. I’m sorry. I know you asked me to, but I can’t let you go.”

Alexia’s POV

“I’ve got you baby. I’m sorry. I know you asked me to, but I can’t let you go.” I can feel my body being pulled and handled but my eyes refuse to open. My hearing comes and goes and I must have really hit my head, because mingled in with the mess of the crash I keep getting images of a man...naked and with wolves. A black wolf.

I think they must be close now, I keep hearing growls, but I’m not scared. I feel like I’m in heaven. Safe and secure. I snuggle closer to the warmth that surrounds me but I don’t feel like I can get close enough. My head is resting against the smoothest silk, but its hard like stone, it’s the most weird bed I’ve ever slept on. One I never want to leave.

I can hear a car door shut and feel the vibrations of the vehicle moving, they don’t have cars in heaven do they? Maybe I’m not dead after all.

“I don’t know, can we just get there faster.” I hear the soothing voice again, but it sounds angry but at the same time worried. I want to comfort the owner of the voice. Let them know I’m okay. That I can hear them. I can feel them stroking my hair.

“You need to calm down Logan. You loosing it isn’t going to help her. We’re almost there and the docs ready waiting for us.” I hear another deep voice, one that I don’t recognise. But what he said... the name...

Logan...

I know that name...

“You never drive. What were you doing going out when the roads were that wet. What was that important?” The magical voice says, and I feel a pair of lips place a gentle kiss upon my forehead.

I concentrate on the voice,
