"Umm.. about that," he scratched his forehead with his index finger. "There's something I need to..."
"There's no need to explain it to me." I cut him off.
"Yes, there is, Aries."
"Leo, I don't want to know." I cupped his face in my hands."Sometimes it's best to let the things flow like the glacier melts into an ocean." Leo leaned down and buried his nose on my neck, where he'd bit me. I felt the heat on my skin, and I moaned while enjoying his hot breath on my skin.
"Jesus, Aries, I might lose my control if you moaned like that again." His voice was husky—sexy. I had to bite my lower lip to suppress the moan that was trying to slip away from my mouth—again.
Suddenly Leo sat up straight as he became very attentive. I was about to ask him, but he spoke.
"The bell just rang. It's recessed, and you're hungry." He was right about the last part. I'd skipped my breakfast this morning. "I'm going to get something to eat okay, Star."
"D-did you just call me Star?"
"Do you like it?"
I nodded.
"Good." He smiled.
"Do not leave or go anywhere," he instructed.
"Okay." I finally freed him.
"I'll be right back." He kissed the tip of my nose and stood up. I watched him walk away.
I sighed at the loss of his company. I just hope when Leo gets back; he wouldn't ask me all the reason behind my wailing. I was pretty sure that he might be thinking about it.
I waited for him, munching on my carrots and celery sticks. 'How did he even hear the bell?' I made a mental note to ask him later.
My phone pinged. There was a message, and the sender was unknown.
The message read:
Hello Aries,
You don't know me, but soon we will meet. I have something to share with you. An unexpected event is going to happen. Your stars' alignment looks very positive, and I am very happy for you. You're beginning a phase right now, that will turn your world upside down in order to cause a spur that brings about growth and evolution. The shooting stars have already activated things for you and it will be very powerful for what you’re becoming. After this meteor shower. You'll have the power of the spirit.
I've so much more to tell you. I'll be in touch with you again. So don't block me.
Until then, take care.
The hair on the back of my neck stood on end. I felt on the edge of this text. My eyes darted around, scanning my surroundings, the trees, it felt like I was being watched or something. I read the text over and over, trying to understand what all that meant? 'Is someone messing with me? Is someone playing a prank on me.'
Certain words —'Star Alignment,' 'Power of the spirit’ were jumping out from the text.
'What do they mean?' I carefully looked around and back again on my phone.
I replied:
'Whoever this is, I am not interested in such nonsense.'
I heard a faint sound of the crushing of leaves. I froze, staring at the spot. That someone or something was getting closer now, as the rustling noise continued to disturb the peace and quietness. The sound was now clearly audible. I could faintly see a dark outline; a silhouette closely resembled a tall man's body shape. As it got closer, I began to punch nine one, but when the figure came into clear view, it was Leo. I instantly felt more at peace.
In his hand, he was carrying a lot of food.
"I don't know what you like? So I got everything from the cafeteria."
"Oh, that was very thoughtful of you, Leo, but I eat very light," I said and tucked away my phone in my backpack's side pocket.
"I can see that. No wonder your little bubble butt perfectly fitted in the palm of my hand."
I was holding a celery stick when he said that, and I snapped it in half. "How did...um...when did you?" I stammered.
"When you fainted, I had to carry you to my car—twice. But it wasn't intentional, I swear." He explained, scratching the back of his head. My whole face probably was super red by now.
We sat in silence for a moment or two. Leo unwrapped his turkey sandwich and took a bite.
"I..." We both spoke at the same time.
"You go." Again, we both said in unison, and we laughed at that.
In between the laughs, he spoke, "I love you, Aries."
"Leo, you don't know anything."
"Then tell me everything." He said sharply, but not in an angry way. "I want to get to know you better, but I can't do it when you keep avoiding me or run away every time I try to come close to you." He was annoyed with me.
He placed his sandwich down on the cling film and looked at me. "Don't shut the door so tightly that I couldn't get in. I'll always be there for you, no matter what." I knew he was referring to my meltdown from earlier. But he was right; I need to tell him at least the part of my plan.
"I'm running away from here, from this town after graduating, Leo."
"Why?" He asked.
"I'm just not comfortable yet to talk about it, so-"
"I understand that, Aries. I will never pressure you to do or say anything if you're not ready. But I also know that you are hurting. Don't think that it goes unnoticed."
My gaze fell away from his face. All my life, I've been enduring pain, without displaying my feelings and without any complaints.
"You don't have to run away. I'm here, Aries. Let me in. I’ll protect you. I won’t let anybody hurt you. Have faith in me." He took my hand in his.
I looked up; his eyes were shining with confidence.
"Believe in me." His words reflected with courage and strength. I can't help but admire his ability. There was something hidden behind his words, and I can almost feel it.
"Also, I'm driving you to school and back
