Wait for Me

voice in the jump of her heart before her memory can even find his name. But when she finally steadies herself enough to speak, the words that spill forth are not the words that she has rehearsed a hundred, a thousand, a million times in her head. “Wait for me,” she asks.

He closes his eyes and sees her as she was that day on the beach.

an na was born in South Korea and grew up in San Diego, California. A former middle school English and history teacher, she is the critically acclaimed author of the Michael L. Printz Award–winning novel A Step from Heaven, as well as The Fold and the soon-to-be published The Place Between Breaths.
