have souls, no bodies anymore and the afterlife is a very mindless place. It´s not like when we immortals go to Styxos where we still remain somewhat aware.”

Freya had known that the afterlife wouldn´t be as she liked to fantasize about, but she had always chosen to ignore that.

“I knew you were a good friend,” Freya said. “Even when the other god´s told me that I needed to stay away from you.”

“Oh, I can imagine that they said all the nicest things about us nymphs,” she answered and they both laughed. “So tell me, how did you meet?” Ondina continued.

Freya told her and then she came to the part where she had planned on tricking Wolf into falling in love with her.

“He wanted me to come here so that I could do him a favor and at the same time I figured I´d might as well use him for my own agenda.”

“And I´m sure the Frost Bringer took it really well, when he found out?” Ondina asked, lifting an eyebrow the color of steely silver.

“I didn´t tell him,” Freya confessed. “I´ll never tell Wolf. Why would I tell him that I did my best to make him fall in love with me on purpose? Just so that he would kill Swarog to make it possible for me to die and reunite with Philip. He doesn´t need to know but…”

“Um, Freya,” Ondina interrupted her and her face turned wary.

“Yes?”

“There´s someone behind you.”

Freya gasped and as she turned around she found Wolf standing by the shore and her blood left her face. He looked like he wanted to kill her. A violent air clung around him, making it appear as if even the frost was withdrawing. His eyes shifted from anguish to on the verge of looking demented.

“How long have you been standing here?” she asked anxiously as Ondina´s reflection faded. Freya needed to get to him, calm him, soothe him and whisper that she would never betray him…

“Long enough to hear all about your deceit.”

She barely recognized his voice. There was something taciturn in it, carrying a sense of numbness and it scared her. If he lost control things would get out of hand.

“All this time I thought you felt something for me,” he said, sounding broken.

“I do! Let me explain…” Freya began but he grabbed and placed her over his broad shoulder. She tried to struggle and he smacked her on her behind. Not too hard but Freya still cried out from the surprise. She tried sliding down but he only gripped her hips, locking her until she couldn´t move.

“Wait, what are you doing? Just put me down and I´ll tell you what…”

“I don´t want to hear another lie that comes out of your mouth,” Wolf said angrily, instantly transporting them back to the bedroom. This time the transportation was so fast and harsh that it blackened for Freya´s eyes and she tried covering her head. Wolf took two long strides and dropped her not that mildly on the bed. Her gown slipped up, showcasing her bare skin but she quickly pulled it down, gazing up at him with wide eyes, hoping that he would hear her out.

“Wolf, it’s not what you think…”

“Quiet!” he bellowed, shaking the bed so that one of the bedposts broke. He took the pole and broke it in half with his bare hands, throwing it so harshly he made a hole in the wall. “I trusted you. I trusted you not to keep any secrets from me and all along you were lying.”

“I wasn´t or yes, maybe at first but then I stopped…I swear it.”

A howling wind started to blow, rattling the windows and Wolf let out a bitter laughter, not hearing her.

“Why should I believe you?” he snarled. He looked at her with deranged eyes and when she tried to move out of the bed, he stood in her way, preventing her from getting up.

“Because it’s the truth and because you care about me,” Freya blurted out but he only tilted his head angrily to the side.

“But you do not care about me,” he hissed. “Selfish god,” he muttered to himself, “I should have known.” And then his eyes narrowed. “So, Swarog was the one who took your life when you were a mortal.” His gloved hands clenched and his ice grey eyes were maddened.

“Yes…yes.”

“And this whole time you were only manipulating me so that I would kill him for you?”

“No!” The protest passed by Wolf without registrations. He acted as if he was in a trance, where all he could see was what he thought was her betrayal. She needed him to calm down and so she rose up to her knees, trying to stroke his chest but he pushed her down as if he couldn´t stand having her hands on him.

“You wanted me to kill Swarog so that you could die, leave me and be united with that MORTAL?” He shouted the last word and a dangerous glint showed up in his eyes. “You will never be with him, you will never see him again, I´ll make sure of it.”

“Listen to me,” Freya pleaded but Wolf grabbed her legs and pushed them apart and placed himself between them. “No, we need to talk,” Freya said, rolling over to her belly, trying to get away from him but his hands went down on her ass, rubbing her roughly until her skin felt raw.

“The times when I listened to what you wanted are long gone,” Wolf said, pulling her closer to him. He started to remove his armor and Freya tried not to cry. What was happening to them? Why wouldn´t he listen?”

“No use in crying,” he snarled. “Your tears are only lies to me, now.” He threw his armor on the floor, placing his heavy weight on top of her and he brushed her hair to the side. She could feel him growing hard and he bent his lips to her ear.

“Did you ever want me? Just a little or was that just
