“It feels weird, having my friends live with me,” York said. “Does that mean we’re playing video games tonight?”
Spike shook his head. “Sorry. I’ve got plans. Kai, too.”
Kai raised his eyebrows, as though he wanted to say, You’re the one making plans with Micah, not me.
Micah cleared his throat, willing his ears to stop burning. “Anyway, if you’re done moving, I’ll be over in the kitchen. We’ll need some lunch soon.”
“I’ll help,” Spike said.
“What, and you’ll leave me to unpack?” Kai asked dryly.
Spike sighed. “I guess I’ll help you first. Because you need your ankle to move stuff, right?”
Kai rolled his eyes. “I meant with the bed.”
“Yeah, that’s weird,” York said. “Do you guys have an air mattress or something? I wasn’t expecting just one bed.”
Micah held his tongue. He’d been about to head into the kitchen, but this... He wanted to see how Kai and Spike answered questions about their relationship.
Spike glanced at Kai. “We were sharing the bed back in the dorm. There wasn’t much space to fit another.”
York looked oddly at them. “Is that a brother thing, too?”
“Yes, it is,” Kai said. “One bed’s fine. Spike and I are pretty close.”
If that wasn’t the understatement of the year, Micah didn’t know what was. He turned so York wouldn’t see the look on his face, and hobbled to the kitchen.
* * *
Halfway through prepping lunch, Spike stepped into the kitchen, sniffing. “Smells good. What’s cooking?”
“Stir fried beef and spicy veggies,” Micah answered, his pulse missing a beat. He’d been wondering when he’d get some time alone with Kai or Spike again.
“Sounds good.” Spike paused right next to Micah, stroking his palm down Micah’s back. Micah shivered, looking surreptitiously at the doorway. “Where’s—”
“York’s in his room,” Spike murmured. “We’ll hear him if he comes out.”
“How can you be so sure?” Micah frowned.
Spike grinned like a devil. “Oh, we’ll hear him, all right.”
Spike, what did you do?
Before Micah could voice the question, Spike pressed his lips to Micah’s neck, and kissed his scent gland. Micah trembled, his heart skipping. He’d been needing Spike’s touch for so long.
“Mm, you always smell so good,” Spike whispered, wrapping his arms around Micah. “I didn’t think you’d find the brother thing so funny.”
Micah bit down a laugh, relaxing against Spike’s chest. Spike was broad and warm, not unlike Kai. Both of them felt so... decadent. “I have inside knowledge,” Micah said. “You and Kai are sure close.”
Spike laughed. “That’s a relief to hear. For a bit last week... I was afraid you’d think we were gross.”
Micah shrugged. “That’s between you and him, isn’t it? It’s certainly not something I should judge.”
“You’re the best.” Spike’s relief shone in his eyes. Then he pressed Micah against the counter, running his hands up Micah’s chest. “How are you feeling? Still pukey?”
“It’s not so bad at the moment.” Micah sighed, touching his belly. “I might have to go back to grapefruit and crackers. It’s what got me through the morning sickness with York.”
Spike paused. “How long were you puking for back then?”
“About six weeks.”
“You had an alpha with you, right?”
Micah shook his head, feeling embarrassed. No one had ever stuck around for long.
Spike’s arms tightened around him. “The fuck,” Spike growled. “What kind of bastard gave you a child and left?”
Micah shrugged. “A bad decision. It’s not important.”
Spike scowled. “That’s not gonna be Kai and me.”
Micah’s stomach flipped. Maybe you’ll stick around, but I don’t think Kai wants to.
Spike nipped at Micah’s ear. “I can’t believe your morning sickness started so early. I read that it usually happens about four weeks in.”
Micah laughed, pleased. Spike had read up on pregnancies? He was nineteen. Micah hadn’t expected him to care that much. “It varies, even for the same omega.”
“Means we’ll have to treat you extra well, then.” Spike nuzzled Micah’s hair, dropping kisses along Micah’s cheek. “Although I can’t believe you’re pregnant, period. With our baby. I’ve never had a baby before. I don’t know if I’m ready to be a dad.”
Micah wet his lips, glancing at his belly. “It’s just been two weeks. We don’t know that it’ll be a successful pregnancy. Besides, you don’t have to be responsible.”
“You really want that baby, huh?”
“I do.” Micah cracked a smile.
Spike met his eyes, curious. “You could’ve had a baby from any alpha. Why didn’t you get one earlier?”
At that, Micah’s cheeks warmed. “I guess I’d never found an alpha I wanted to make a baby with.”
Spike grinned. “Until me and Kai?”
Micah blushed harder. “You were, ah, very persuasive.”
Spike laughed, his eyes crinkling. “All I did was kiss you. And I’d kiss you a million more times.”
This felt too good to be true. Micah squirmed, looking at his feet. “Shouldn’t you be helping Kai unpack?”
“We’re almost done. I just wanted to stake my claim.” Spike nipped along Micah’s shoulder, squeezing Micah’s nipple through his shirt. “Been wanting to do this since I first saw you this morning. You make me so damn hard.”
Micah’s blood swooped; his pants tightened. Musk wafted from his skin. “We shouldn’t be doing this right now.”
Spike kissed his nape, his breath hot on Micah’s neck. “Yeah, I know. But—gods. I need to touch you. I’m showing restraint, you know. I haven’t marked you yet.”
Micah laughed. “Well, you can show a little more restraint until after lunch.”
He felt like a professor, saying that. Except Spike ran his fingertips down Micah’s cock, the pressure of his touch a whisper through Micah’s pants.
Micah gasped, his cock growing full. He loved Spike’s touch. Still hadn’t had enough of it. He didn’t think he’d ever grow tired of this.
Someone snorted behind them. “Give the guy a break, Spike. He’s making food.”
Spike’s laugh reverberated against Micah’s back. “You say that now, but I’ll have you know that he got hard the second I touched him. Wanna see?”
Heat burst through Micah’s face. He yelped, his cock jerking against Spike’s fingers.
