his body heat soaking into Micah’s skin.

If the adrenaline hadn’t been keeping him awake, Micah would have dozed off.

When the water was the right temperature, Spike led the way into the shower. Micah followed, and Kai brought up the rear.

It was crowded, the three of them in a small square of space. But standing between Kai and Spike, their solid chests bumping into him, Micah slowly warmed up, his shivers fading away.

He found both alphas watching him in concern, pressed close, trying to get him warm as quickly as they could.

They were both so earnest, that sometimes, Micah didn’t feel deserving of all their care.

“I’m sorry about earlier,” Micah said, bowing his head. “I should have asked for help.”

Spike brightened. He cradled Micah’s face in his hands, pressing their foreheads together. “I just want you to be safe,” Spike murmured, kissing Micah softly on the lips. “No more walking alone in the cold rain. That’s just miserable.”

Micah’s heart fluttered for him.

“Yeah,” Kai said, dragging his lips down Micah’s ear. “If Spike did that, I would’ve punched him.”

“And then you would’ve fucked me.” Spike grinned, wriggling against Micah. “That’s how Kai claims people. By fucking.”

Kai huffed, but he wrapped his arm around Spike, too, pulling the three of them so close, that there was no space between them for air. Micah’s eyelids fluttered shut. Kai kissed the top of his head.

“You’re important,” Kai murmured. “You need to remember that.”

“I...” Micah glanced down at his mottled body, an angry contrast against Spike’s bronzed, perfect skin. “I’m just me. I’m old and scarred.”

“I love the way you moan,” Spike whispered against his lips. “And the way you care so much about your students.”

“And York, even if he’s a jerk,” Kai said dryly. “You’re a great dad, you know. I don’t think we mention it enough.”

Micah sighed, his heart thumping. “I messed up with York. Maybe I shouldn’t have taught him that this was bad. It kind of is, but—”

“This isn’t bad at all,” Spike said fiercely, kissing Micah hard on the lips. “I don’t care if you’re our teacher, Micah. I don’t even care that you’re older than us. You’re our omega.”

Micah’s throat grew tight. Spike, with his tireless optimism... he was perfect. His affection for Micah had never once flagged, and the way Spike loved—fierce and unconditionally, even though he was silly sometimes and he joked around so much... Micah realized he loved having Spike around.

He realized he cared for Spike, to the point where his heart yearned for more.

He stared into Spike’s eyes, all copper with flecks of deeper brown, and realized—I love him.

The realization made Micah’s stomach clench. I shouldn’t.

Micah

Micah sucked in a deep breath, trying to hide his thoughts. Spike would read him otherwise.

“Are—Are you sure I’m your omega?” Micah tried to joke.

Kai rumbled, stroking his wrists down Micah’s sides. His eyes gleamed. “You wear my mark.”

“I wish you’d let me mark you,” Spike said, touching the scent gland on Micah’s neck. “Kai’s is there, but it’s off-center. Like it needs another mark to balance it out.”

Micah’s heart thumped. The moment Spike said it, he wanted Spike’s bonding mark on him, too. But he couldn’t commit to them. Whatever he felt toward Kai and Spike... for as long as they were his students, this was a risk. He’d been ignoring that for the past two months.

“You saw that email from the college president,” Micah said. “This whole relationship is risky.”

With another two years before they graduated... Would this even last? Kai and Spike would find some other omega eventually, younger and not scarred, and they’d realize that there wasn’t any point in courting Micah. Kai and Spike were a good match by themselves, too.

“But there’s also that new bill,” Kai said. “The president might turn it into a law.”

“But it isn’t a law yet.” Micah sighed. “Bernard made that very clear.”

He didn’t want to think about it. So he turned to Kai, stiffening when Spike slipped a couple of fingers between his asscheeks.

“Have we warmed you up enough?” Spike murmured, nudging Micah’s hole. “Or do you need a bit more heat?”

Micah’s eyes grew wide. Maybe it was his new revelation about Spike, but Spike’s touch sent a jolt of heat down his nerves. “We’re—We’re supposed to head to the hospital,” Micah gasped, flushing when Kai raked his hot gaze down Micah’s body.

“York can fend for himself for a while,” Spike said. “‘Sides, I wanna mark you with our scent. I want everyone to know you’re ours.”

Micah’s heart pounded. There was going to pick up his son, and then there was spending just another five minutes with his alphas.

And with York having a broken arm, Micah didn’t want to rub salt into his wound by risking York overhearing anything he did with Spike and Kai.

“We have time for a quickie,” Kai growled in Micah’s ear, sucking Micah’s earlobe into his hot, damp mouth. “Get that tension out of your muscles.”

“And a hot cock inside you.” Spike’s voice held a smile; he leaned in, kissing Micah on his scent gland. “I want Kai to watch you come.”

Micah’s blood pooled between his legs. Even though Kai had seen him come... it was still a moment when Micah was completely vulnerable. Did Kai really want...?

Kai growled, capturing Micah’s lips in a deep kiss that went straight down his spine. Micah’s cock grew embarrassingly hard. Just from that one kiss.

Spike shut off the shower, so warm water stopped pattering on their skin. In the following silence, every sound Micah made was amplified—especially when Spike grasped Micah’s asscheeks, and spread them apart. Micah whimpered.

“Nice,” Kai growled, dragging his thumb along Micah’s lip. “Do that again. I want to hear him.”

“He’s always so tight and pink,” Spike said, rubbing Micah’s hole lightly. Then he knelt behind Micah, pressing his face against Micah’s ass.

His tongue flicked against Micah’s hole, damp and soft. Micah gasped, his throat growing dry. He’s going to taste me.

Before him, Kai watched, his dark eyes never missing any of Micah’s reactions. Micah
